The Etymotic GSP's operate off a #10 hearing-aid battery (included). The batteries are air-activated so once you pop the tab, you have a week of use before they die. You can find enough batteries on Amazon to last you about a year for about $20 or so.

The Lucid/Etymotic Saf*T*Ears are the rechargeable versions. These are the same as the Otto's which were invented by Etymotic and licensed to Otto for resale. Only difference is the case color and name.
