    nothing new for any union
Labor unions are socialist institutions at their core. The whole premise is to organize workers under one banner. They have always supported the democratic party. But, that doesn't mean their members go out to the polls and tow the union line either. Fortunately, most union workers are only in it for the benefits or because membership is a pre-requisite for their employment within that particular company. They couldn't care less for union politics.

    Well . . . with complete disclosure.

It is not the "organization" that votes - but the "members".

Remember that and it makes it easier to understand where the problem is.

There are a bunch of UAW workers by me, and every one of 'em is a Trump supporter. The UAW may support her, but i'd question how many members of that union actually vote for her.
Well, if the members stopped donatating to the Union's PAC, and flushed their lackey officers, maybe they would get a union that worked for them. Kinda like quitting the NRA and flushing LaPierre. It doesn't have to be this way. P.S. fuck unions.

i was an RN for 40+ years. a field that desperately needed unionization. still does but wages have gotten so crazy that their level allows a lot of shit to go unaddressed.wais making $5/hr in 72 in FL when UAW was getting 15 in detroit. benefits were laughable in comparison. big % of new cars back then came off the line AFU and nothing was ever done. no need as management was making obscene huge salaries so nobody was gonna rock the boat. nursing obviously a FM dominated job so management could play the "your patients need you" song and keep the abuse going. other one needed unions was the coal miners back in the old days. they were getting worked to death, killed in shitty unsafe mines and owned by co store. i think that might have gotten worked out. used to be get a union worker for a homeowner job and you felt you were getting quality work. now all you get is arrogant, maybe competent over charging dicks. unions could be a good thing but hasn't gone that way. regan knew how to handle them. civil service rules need to end and any union teacher should be fired tomorrow.

How smart of them... Endorsing somebody who will force EV shit on them and end up burying them alive with "green" legislation and carbon reduction milestones requiring expensive tech and add ons to every new vehicle until they go bankrupt.

No different from "Queers for Palestine"...

So, if the union gives the members money to one party, but the members vote for the other party...they both can't be supporting their own interests...

Unless, the interests of "the union" are not the same as those of the people who make up that union. Don't they unionize and collectively bargain for the interests of the workers?

    Don’t buy American cars?
Soon to be Chinese anyway, at least Stellantis brands anyway.

The destructive irony is ironic isn’t it?

I work in a UAW shop, primarily conservatives, but then there are the diehard liberals.

Most don't support it on the local level, I know I don't support it and I make sure they know I don't support it.

Endorsement and votes are bought and paid for. Old news is old.

    Yes, indeed.

I mentioned this elsewhere earlier - the firms that I work for lobby for what we need to great effect.

People, policies, land - all bought and sold on the common goods market like nothing.

This goes hand - in - hand with American values and culture.

They are every bit as “patriotic,” expressing allegiances through votes, as American Pie.

Just so happens they disagree with you, don’t hold it against them.

The UAW has endorsed every democrat that ran for president in my lifetime.

If you have a few minutes, look into what Obama did for them in 2009-2011. Literally gave them a couple trillion dollars while you were sleeping. They are normally in the top 3 campaign contributors to every dems presidential campaign.

Then Toyota and Honda came along. Between the crappy products and unions, the big three almost became extinct.

Check out the NYT endorsement. They haven't endorsed a (R) for president since 1948 I believe. Money. Its a thing.

Unions. They been the (D) bitches for years. House Slaves if you will. With Blacks being the field slaves. Oh look. Lets bring in all the immigrants to replace you for cheap and then use your money to enrich ourselves!

Coercion is wrong and always was. The end does not justify the means. Besides that, wages in pre-unionized America outstripped wages in union Europe by 2-3X until the American workers were fooled by the Progressive party to "share" their wages.
While true, there are a great many things that the unions......resolved.....a bit quicker then would have happened naturally. "Company Towns" comes to mind.

One guy sang a song that said "I owe my soul to the company store". That was very accurate, and for some of us older people, that was our grand parents. Not mine, I came from money, but the wife's father grew up as sharecroppers. Actual dirt floor people.

Unions moved that a bit forward. The "gilded age" was not great for a great many people.

That all said however things have moved too far in one direction. We will need to see if it will swing the other way, or if someone nails pendulum to the wall. Personally I think that it will be nailed to the wall, I am however not sure if anyone is going to rip the nail out and let things correct itself. I have one feeling however and I hate to say I know I am right on this one. No matter what, that hammer will be bloody.
