Finally told them I'd proven my standards and they could fuck off if that wasn't enough.

PP has it's issues but it is convenient. Got the email too about SSN but not giving to them. As I understand, only have to give it to them if you maintain balance and use to pay for stuff. Being required to get info by Fed banking laws. All you have to do is transfer to your bank.

Boy was I WRONG.
They sent me a similar set of notices 3-5 times,
They changed the requirements several times. nothing would satisfy them, January 27 pp proceded to lock down my business account stating "still need more personal info ".
(we had emptied $ the night prior)
we then open a secondary account under the corporate business name,per their rules- properly . included letters of incorporation, EIN #, bank accounts ect.. all good to go...
Even recieve an e mail......congratulations you can now send and recieve pp transfers.
Then they showed their Fangs.
We recieved payments exceding $5000.00 in the next 36 hours.
then got the "notice" requiring additional information.
Immediatly they seized the account ...it is frozen... we cant refund customers $ ,send or receive any $ and cant transfer any funds with out providing additional private personal information. (this is a business corporate account.).
we are being blackmailed now... i will not comply!
Currently we and several customers are out a bunch of $. We informed them our account has been frozen and to claim item not recieved as we will not ship without payment.
pay pal wont refund them .
although they claim," pp the safe and secure way to send $"
that is a total lie.....
We've been told 6 months and we can request our $ back...... .... their excuse "it is in our terms of use that u agreed to."

PayPal like all the other new SJW controlled Technocrat companies that are trying to control everything firmly are against any consumer protection laws and believe there should be able to do whatever they want at their whim and change their treatment of people at any moment and everybody just has to live with it... But get really upset when anybody suggests they should follow the law.

I never used Pp. I had eBay account 100% positive feedback until they required pp. I had someone on here claim if they don’t have a pp I don’t trust them.. I’m at the point that if they only accept pp I don’t trust em. I’ve sent uspo money orders all over America and only had one end up lost. I got my money back from post office eventually. We shouldn’t be so willing to give money to anti 2a corporations just for a little temporary perceived convenience.

I get the “the check is in the mail thing” I never expect anyone to send until cash is in hand. I just can’t get past the idea of paying money to be stolen from and be treated like I’m a bad guy because I exercise my rights. I can go find a Democrat for free.

So if you currently use PayPal, continue as you wish, but I'd suggest never leaving any money in PayPal, always pull it out immediately. Also consider linking it to a bank account that is NOT your primary bank account and that you can keep just a minimum balance in only & fill & empty as needed & make sure it has no overdraft capability.

Biggest convenience for me is when I'm buying something. Click, click, done. No trips to PO to stand in line w/ a bunch of mouth breathers just to get to a counter staffed by clowns to buy a MO. Most stuff I buy online I don't really need to begin with and it's often just not worth the hassle to do the MO thing. I've even sent cash for small dollar stuff rather than waste the time to go to PO.

If you are a business you should have a website and a proper credit card processor.

Also, you should never let funds sit in a paypal account. Always transfer it to your bank account as soon as possible.

I've used PayPal for years buying secondhand stuff on the Internet and I've never had an issue, but I'm not trying to move $5k through it in 24hrs either.

Was it a different credit-card processing, or what? Does anyone know what (if anything) came of that? Is it still in the works, or dead in the water?

Or am I totally off my nut?

Since we are sharing opinions, I've probably had about 800+ transactions with Paypal with zero problems. I do as others on here and immediately transfer the money to my bank account. Never been asked for my SS#.

IMHO, it's hard to believe that someone would say, "I have zero trust in a person that only accepts payapl." I guess I can go to the opposite extreme too. I imagine that if you look hard enough, ALL of the monetary companies deal in practices that we would not agree with and so let's just boycott everyone...I know, where's the proof of this! No proof, just a gut feeling. This is capitalism...Again, this is just my opinion, not fact.

I do all of this and have never had a problem with PP...separate no fee bank account and pull money immediately. The convenience, speed and protection beats MOs all day long.

Never a problem with PP never keep a PP balance, money gets sucked out of a second checking account with less than 300.00 balance and no overdraft protection... small buyer here, anything big gets the Credit card and I'm protected.
