Fun Fact: Ruger RPR Magazine

Doing my usual winter / new year clean up, and came across these:

These were supposed to be the proprietary magazines for the Ruger RPR, fortunately, we explained the benefit of the Accuracy International ecosystem and that is the magazine system used vs a dedicated one.

After this discussion, they were able to engineer a more universal lock up which allowed for more than one magazine type to be used. A big plus for the end-user being able to recycle other types of magazines.

Thought I would share since I had a bit of insight into this process.

I know that everyone loves the AICS pattern magazine, but my personal opinion is that the real genius was engineering the use of AR pattern magazines into the rifle's design. Regardless, very cool that you had a hand in keeping the RPR from using proprietary magazines...

Can you show us/explain how they are different from AICS mags? Curious how Ruger tried to reinvent the wheel.
