William Manchester’s “goodbye darkness”
is remarkable as well.
He visits the island battlefields in the ‘70’s.
He was not at all of them, but some. The book is one of the first real returns to the island 30’years later. Enough is still “fresh” that it is a hell of an emotional experience.

That is the one I could not remember, that was I think the best one of the lot. Burgin, larkin....hell at least I got the last two letters right. As a kid I had a paper route delivering the Bergen Evening Record and Leckie was a reporter with the paper at one time. Read his book as well as the E.B. Sledges and the rest of the folks who served with him. R.V. Burgins' "Islands of the Damned" is one of my favorites.
I am wondering if there is a Trump Tucker ticket in the future. Is Tucker running for office? If not, maybe he ought to.
The pillbox scene in "The Pacific" was from Sledge's book. That is a pretty good book, Pacific was actually a bunch of books all wadded up together. Personally I think it is one reason it did not go over as well as band of brothers. I also think they got in too much of a hurry to get to the "cool war stuff" and there was almost zero development of the characters.
In BOB we hated Sobel log before they even got to england. We knew these people, and if we know them we can attach to them. In pacific we got a little on Sledge, and even less on Leckie, the rest.....just who are these people.
But I will say I liked all the books. Most are pretty easy to find on the internet, I just looked them up, Books Pacific is based on. But the lists I saw left one out that I really liked, it was by Sledges platoon leader.....Larkin I want to say. I have it at home but can't remember they guys name. That scene with the pillbox is lifted from that book but they don't list it. A 10sec search did not find it.
It's less expensive and easier to just to buy the second one.I have a battery 1/2” impact now but back in the day, swapping a ball in the field meant getting creative![]()

For me. I detest pre work setup. If I am going to cut the grass and I have to go to the gas station because the gas can and mower are empty, fuuuuck! Trailer has a 1&7/8 inch and I have to change the 2", fuuuuck!!!
Time is limited. I'll spend the money to have an extra tool that makes getting the job done quicker.
I must be getting them mixed up in my head. I thought there was something in the other about that. The pillbox scene in "The Pacific" was from Sledge's book.
If you follow this link, you can read that section of the book. It starts on page 113, about 2/3 down.

cheap tools are loanersI still have some cheap tools but they’re nothing that either A) gets a lot of use or B) has a lot of moving parts
We bought a pair of his pillows. Wife and I hated them and returned them. Several months later I actually ran into the guy hawking his pillows in Costco. I stopped by and shared that I had tried one and it resulted with me waking up with a crick in my neck and a headache. He reached in a box and handed me a pillow and told me that was the one I needed. I told him it was the one that didn't work for me. He was nice as someone selling a product should be and said he was sorry it didn't work out for me.
I then bought a tempur-pedic pillow as as replacement and it was the most comfortable and durable pillow I have ever slept on. It's price was consideably more but worth it to me. No more neck problem or headache with it.
I’m a fan of buckwheat hull pillows. Once you get it filled the right amount there’s none better.
This toocheap tools are loaners
That way if something like in the pic happens or they get 'lost' I'm not out an expensive tool

…and then here for context. White girls staying classy.
He’d be a lot happier if he were being fed nuts by a hippie chick while sitting on a giant penis.
I heard they were brought here for consumption.Pigeon house belonging to the French Governor at the Louisburg fort… 1730’s. He had a lot of pigeons. He ate pigeons.
