I have always thought steam shovels were cool. This was one of my favorite books as a kid.
I loved that book as a kid. I think mom still has it with my baby stuff in her basement.
This one is down the road fro me in Nederland, CO. It was used to build the Panama Canal, and was still being used for mining in the mountains here into the 70’s.
Tried to talk the wife into naming one of the twins Carl. After I explained the joke I got a hard fucking "no"!
Looks to be a ‘64 Jag XKE... had on once ... an extraordinary automobile and a blast to drive.
I had two XKEs and loved keeping the Lucas electrics and carbs running... when they were turned right it was quite enjoyable... gave me an appreciation of fine women.
Incase you were wondering. If your 4yo you can call deer with a duck call. He was busting up laughing calling at a young fawn. Two more came out of the bushes to see what the hell was quacking at them.
