I have a hit and miss pending restoration... if I had a saw like that... It would be 'under restoration!!!'

Damn America was such an awesome place before OSHA and liberals came along and fucked it up. Back then, you either knew your stuff or you died. Or became 'stumpy' and then died of sepsis.

It was better for everyone back then!

Sirhr

I have always had "a thing" for the Maytag engines. I would love to have the entire setup.

Those little engines really are something, and they did about everything.

Pretty sure that show was just in Raleigh as well. I talked myself out of it because I know I’d buy a snake if I saw the right one

Yes, I do believe that it was. Imagine me, there's a Reptile show every month near me. I used to sell there myself, so I know all of the vendors. I could get a killer deal on anything I want. Problem is, I want everything when I'm there.

I want to get back into Red and Yellow Ackies too.

Funny you should mention that. I'm headed up on Saturday to Amish Country and looking at a Maytag model 72. This guy has a bunch of them, so I think I'll be able to cherry pick something there.

Maybe its the same thing that keeps "ice cream" from melting? I thought Dasani had that "fetal cell line" product in it as well. I hate that, because I really do like this water.

In another lifetime I worked for Coke....well really CCE, Coca Cola Enterprises, the bottler. "Big Coke" in Atlanta just makes the syrup. Big coke owns like 51% of CCE, but it is a different company.

When I worked there over 20 years ago....can't believe it is this long. The "water thing" was just hitting. Dasani was made to counter Pepsi's Aquifina. Dasani is basically what ever water is available in your area, run through a bunch of filters, to get rid of all the other crap the .gov puts in water, including poison, fluoride. (For a fun way to spend 2 min read the back of your tooth paste tube, it tells you to not let kids brush their teeth for over 2 min, and to call poison control if you "eat" it)

They then add their own stuff to it, and that is all it is.

Make no mistake it is very good and pure water, run through filters you could not imagine, just like the water used in the pop.

Now the pop you get at a quick shop, or when you go out to eat is different, and that is just city water, it might have a filter on it, but in my old area usually not unless you are in a very small town on a well. Most of what is in quickie marts and such is a product called bag in a box.

Not really. Can't find pics of her hang-gliding, and reserved the pics of her skiing, scuba diving and free climbing. We've competed in USPSA since she was in middle school.

If there was a female Bond, she'd qualify!

I wish you were my dad. Good job. Could you imagine if all dads put just a quarter of investment time into their daughter's development? We could be looking at a whole new generation.

Pretty sure my wiff wants a Savannah.

Thank you. The reel is a Bill Ballan. The rod technically is not vintage, I made it.
These guys are in my AO.

I think that's the same reel on their webpage cover.

Did you get a book, or watch videos? How did you learn to do it? I heard it's extremely time consuming...

Any chance she has an older sister that's available? Say mid 60's, bad knee, likes to sleep in then watch TV on Friday nights.

Thank you,
MrSmith

Pretty sure my wiff wants a Savannah.

If she were to get one, start handling it right away. Pick it up a lot as soon as it's in its enclosure. They only do well later in life if they are held early on. They can be nasty little devils if they aren't acclimated to the huma touch. They are great pets.

Good luck!

I remember my Grandmother had a washer like that on the back porch. Don't remember if is was gas powered or not.

Didn't those machines come out just about the time women were given the right to vote? Coincidence?

...or the spatula...or the infamous "switch from the tree out back." My mom could use either like Da Vinci used a brush.

The ultimate humiliation was when the condemned had to cut his own "switch." Even worse was the admonition of, "you better cut a good one cause if you don't, I'll get one that's going to hurt twice as bad."

I'm just glad that I didn't grow up in Africa where they use sjamboks.

Women get the right to vote in 1920, Blacks in 1870 and the american indian in 1924.

A while back I did a deep dive on the american indian learned quite a bit, I can't get my head around how blacks get by with being the "most persecuted" BS in the US.
