You can always tell when you're in a decent neighborhood...

A long time ago I did a test, here there are a few gas stations that sell 100% real gas, no booze in them. Fill with 87 test milage, fill with 93, run a tank through fill again with 93, and I got 15% better gas mileage. Switched back and forth several times, always got better gas mileage with the "real gas" over the booze gas, sometimes a bit more sometimes a bit less, but always better.

15% alcohol in the fuel = 7.5% more fuel required to cover same distance.

Durham or Fayetteville, 1989ish. Riding Harleys was NOT considered cool… More on the delinquent side.

That’s most likely not me. 1976 XLCH poked and stroked. 100hp from 1000 cc. So I heard…

Sirhr

Don't worry they are still not considered cool, more on the pathetic trailer their bike to a ride side. Their sales seem to reflect the non cool nature of the HD.

That said I would love to find one just like the one pictured. I want one from the AMF years in as close to unmolested shape as I can find.

My Silverado is designed to run on E85. It is rated for a bit higher HP, but not insignificantly poorer fuel economy on E85 than on “standard” gasoline.

If your increased fuel economy is wiped out by the increased cost of the fuel, is it better fuel economy? I mean, around here, the days of 93 octane being $0.20 more expensive than 87 octane are long gone. 93 octane is more than 15% more expensive than 87 around here.

I had seen that, but every once and a while I get in my little peanut brain to do an experiment to the best I feel like doing. That "best" can be all over the spectrum however. This is how I did the test with that.

I already record date, miles, mpg, price per gal with every fill for the last who knows how many years, and this idea just popped into my head. It was fun to see what the real numbers said.

That was part of the fun in seeing that. I don't remember the costs per gal, it was quite a while ago that I did this. I gave all the numbers to my son, he was still in school, so at least 10 years ago easy, I think grade school. And told him to figure it out. Wife checked his numbers and said it was accurate, I am not good with numbers, they tend to move around on me.

I know I still have them somewhere.

I have a Supercharger on my 98 Tacoma. If I don’t run 93 Octane cut with Lucas Octane Booster it pings and rattles like a mo fo. With 93 & Booster she runs like a different truck. Didn’t know in 2000 what the Pedo was going to do to gas prices or I wouldn’t have put the Huffer on. 👎

I want to put the supercharger on my FJ badly..... The new model ones have a multi programmer that can run all the octane selections without pinging. Just no E85 tune which sucks, only way to get the E85 tune is to go complete aftermarket ECU. FJB and the EPA.

I'd be willing to bet that this chick is a blast at a party

She shouldn't drive either. Petroleum products come from adipocere AKA fat and oils from every kind of dead animals, including humans that has spent enough time deep underground. She should be walking barefoot everywhere, because even shoe soles are made from rubber and petrol distillates. Bicycles are out of the option too, because tires. And no use of any technology either. Electricity comes from coal and gas, once again, animal products. Barefoot and naked 24/7/365, or FAKE virtue signaller.

Hypocrisy can be rationalized away.

So you put the supercharger on yourself. I remember years ago I had a nissan turbo, and there was a "knock sensor" thing sounded like a diesel. Back to the dealer and they replaced it, it was new. Even back then it was to crank back the timing to keep it from doing that.

I have a few things that get just the "good gas" for this or that reason.

I'm going to knock the boost down on my Dakota.
18psi of boost requires good fuel that's sometimes difficult to source.
If I get it down to 12 psi it will run on premium..... but that's giving up 200 hp!

All my stuff came from a a Toyota dealer in TX. Every add-on is TRD…SC , Headers, Cat-back Exhaust….wasn’t ignorant $$ then
Make sure you build up either your Manual trans Clutch or your Autos Valve Body. I send mine to a company called Level 10 in N.Y. They remap yours to make it Beucoup stronger 👍 If not , an auto Trans/or Clutch won’t last long. I sent the Original VBody to them when I installed the SC. Two day turn-a-round 👍
The truck has 360K+ miles , use only Toyota Filters & Mobile One Synthetic…Runs awesome !🍻🇺🇸

It wasn’t “that” hard of an install. Since everything was Toyota , everything fit good.
The residuals like changing the timing belt/BELTS…...
better Plugs and wires , polishing the throttle body etc. was a bigger PITA to me than putting the SC on.

I have the 4.0l in the FJ, they do not make the TRD branded one any longer. They were made by Magnuson, it's the complete kit. Then like you said I'll do some auto trans upgrades. Hopefully next year ...

WarPaint. In case y’all don‘t remember, she comes by her name naturally. She’s far nicer than when she used to be but still, this sweet looking little feline can be quite dangerous. Make her mad, blood will hit the floor. Unfortunately she’s been loosing weight like someone pulled the plug. Tomorrow morning, she heads off to the vet to find out why.
