They refuse to believe what their eyes see. I linked a test Ian did and it showed the M14 failing miserably and a well known member said Am I supposed to believe that because it's on the internet? This was on Arfcom, I bet if someone linked those on the M14 forum they would get banned. Oh well, ignorance is bliss....
The exposed action is the problem, the bolt and rollers are exposed so everything ends up there thus causing a malfunction.
Open nature of the receiver, and a blade shaped bolt which rotates. Easy to see why a captured bolt inside a carrier will do better in this type of test.
A benefit of the DI action is there are a lot of hot gasses blowing all the mud clear of the ejection port. Compare the DI ar15s to the HK.

I'm honestly impressed the AKs ran with the safety off when he shook off the exterior mud, considering the large the gaps in the receiver. Ultimately mud will defeat any open receiver. Even a Mauser will fail:
This was more realistic than the freezing test. He was very clear that this wasn’t scientific, and not a be all/end all. As someone who has had to drag their rifle through TN mud, this test could ring true to a degree. Now, I would do my damndest to swipe the mud off the dust cover before firing but as to how a rifle could get some shit smashed into the receiver, I could see this. The chances of me having this happen in a situation where I would be forced to fire while filthy is almost certainly not going to happen.

not the only, my buddy has one (17S) and I found the recoil to be snappy and unpleasant compared with pretty much any other .308 or 6.5 cm gas gun I’ve shot. Which is a bit odd, considering my favorite rifle is my MDRX and they share a lot of basic similarities.
I can see why people like them, but definitely not for me.
Not an AK fan, but didn’t expect that to happen. Was fairly certain the ar would be out in the first 2 minutes of the video.
mws did the same thing at the end. unrealThe KAC was F'ing hilarious to watch brass pop out from a brick of mud and lock back like a boss. I admit I was a little nervous
