Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Awesome keep us posted about the pelican case you are gonna use to carry it safely.

You're in luck. You can get your Weibel with a built in case. Makes the Pelican crowd look poor, which they are.

Before we get banned for taking the thread off topic, I have an in with Raytheon so maybe I'll just go with the AN/TPY-2. Not sure if the Tundra could tow it though.

FedEx is still showing my Garmin's delivery as tomorrow. Repeat of a previous pic to stay somewhat on topic.

If anyone wanted to see how it does vs a Labradar in situations where another shooter is super close to you I covered that in my video review! Been super impressed with this thing.

Good video review and impact test. Seems the unit is durable.

So it begs the question: why even get a ball head when the Xero is so easy to set up (does not have to be exactly lined up) and the added weight and height of the ball head makes it more tippy? It'd be quicker to just pick up the entire thing and adjust anyways.

YMMV, happy shooting

Perfect fitment and not much wasted space. What case please?
Thanks.

Only put it on that ball head tripod to the screens could lineup in the video at the same height. I’ll be mounting my Xero to my diving board or using the oem tripod unless at a match where the zero line is in tall grass.

I am also patiently waiting for my Xero to be delivered however I‘d love to hear from someone that had already the chance to test it in a cluttered, RF reflective down range environment…I gave my LR a very last chance last week and it performed miserably as usual.

What type of things down range are you looking to test against?

For those that just want to use the included tripod most of the time and want a way to put it on taller tripod from time to time...

Vyce is plenty wide enough to hold it

Disclaimer: I haven't function tested it like this, but as long as it's to the back where it's open I can't see any reason it won't work

All buttons on top are easy to flip through menus and such still

I reached out to Labradar a couple of years ago and not that I am anything special, but I had a really good opportunity/reason to ask for an industry deal, meaning, my use case was going to put it in front of a lot of eyeballs...special eyeballs. They wouldn't budge a cent. There is only two companies ever in over 13 years that were that way. I wasn't mad, it's their prerogative, but it seemed pretty short sighted to me, long term, especially since I most certainly would still have paid well over their landed cost with a discount. Additionally, they most assuredly would have sold many more due to the opportunity. I simply went another direction. They positioned themselves as if no one else was ever going to come along, thought they had the market locked and have been caught sleeping. I hope they can pivot and come back from this because I do always root for the small business. NEVER stop innovating, because someone is already bench-marking you.

As far Garmin, I am actually a huge fan. For a publicly traded company, they have their shit together. Garmin's watches are the defacto standard for smart/fitness pieces, their depth finders are as well for marine applications, not to mention their standing in the world of GPS. Quite honestly, I feel like they are becoming a data-mining company and have the ability to have a gigantic market cap. They also have incredible, responsive customer service and if you provide feedback on a feature (like I have on their dive watches/computers) they actually integrate it.

The other company, I won't name, but same deal..and guess what, I buy their stuff at full retail, bc, well, it's the best...for now.

I’m sure LR isn’t worried. They have their fan base that won’t look at anything else and would buy another one if their’s would break tomorrow. OMG your Xero is slower by 5 fps. It’s inaccurate.

I know it’s not a good time for small businesses here but I ordered mine from TNAguns.com on the 12th and it shipped this evening. I exchanged some emails with the owner when ordering he was responsive and seems like a great guy.

Someone mentioned them earlier in this thread with a discount code which I used, I had never heard of them prior to reading it here but decided to give them a shot.

I think Labradar is from Quebec. The response you got is not a surprise to any English Canadian.

They will most definitely loose customers and fan base. Garmin made the comment sales exceeded their expectations. We have a lot of gear whore's on this site. I'm one of them, that said most people will see the easy to use platform vs the one that is not as easy especially for public range use. LR just lost a lot of market share.

I had to make it work. The 56 is just a smidge too small. The lid will close but I have to squeeze it shut. For the purpose of transport and protection it’ll do. It’s not pretty though.
Glad I ordered the 57! Good to see it still fits. I'll prob run my xero vertically, so I can fit a nodal rail in beside the tripod when I get one.

Cabela’s has the Xero in stock online. I snagged one this morning. Shipped this afternoon; arrives Wednesday via FedEx.

Nice lady at Cabelas that I Allen to make sure it wasn’t a vaporware back order said they’re shipping from the warehouse in Springfield, MO and she said they have “lots of them”!

Played around with the Garmin at the range today. Wanted to see how it'd do compared to my LabRadar, how it'd do with pistol, lever action, etc. Overall, extremely impressed. It didn't miss a shot all day, and didn't pick up any shots from neighboring shooters either. Way easier to aim than the LabRadar, basically just point it somewhere down range and it'll pick up your shots. Towards the end I was just walking down the firing line and holding it in my hand next to people's rifles, and it was picking up their shots. Pretty remarkable.

We compared the Garmin side by side with 3 different labradars, a magneto speed, and a bullet seeker. Pretty much every shot, the Garmin was within 5 FPS of the other device. It was pretty reliably 5 FPS different every time, none of the devices were an exact match. Didn't bother comparing averages or ES/SD as I was mostly just messing around.

One of the labradars seemed to be affected by the Garmin though. It would not pick up shots when the Garmin was armed. Disarmed the Garmin and the LabRadar would start picking up shots again. Re-arm the Garmin and the LR woukd stop again. Tried 4 different frequencies on that LR and oddly enough it eventually started working just fine back on its original frequency. Was pretty odd. The other two LRs were fine. The Garmin worked fine regardless of the LR, so it was a one-way street.

Pistol and lever action (pistol caliber) were no problem at all. I started out with the chrono on a bench about ~20" or so below the pistol shooting straight over it, no problem. Then moved side to side couple feet, fired to the left side of the bay and to the right.. it picked up every shot just fine. You do have to wait for it to register the shot, so 1 round per 1-2 seconds is about as fast as you can go. But if you just mag dump over the top of it, it'll still pick up shots when it resets between readings. Oh and it had no problem picking up rimfire either.

Nothing scientific or statistically significant here, but I thought some people may be interested anyway and thought I'd share.
Thank you for this data, this is what I came here for (it took 26 pages of "eBay has them for $2k" and "mine gets here tomorrow" to find you).

Are there really people who hate him? I don't know much about him, but I've seen several references to people hating him, but no explanations as to why?
Yes, he has haters. He is basically the 6.5 Creedmoor of gun tubers. But he's a national champion, so it's probably good to listen to what he has to say but you see a lot of folks hanging onto every word he says.

You’re gonna love this thing… It crushes the lab radar.

Literally fixes the issues I had with the lab radar and makes this completely completely practical to use.

I had previously sold my LR, because it wasn’t very useful to me, and a magneto speed, as much as I don’t love them, worked all the time

Can't wait to get it in hand and test it out.

I may be in the minority here, as I know lots of guys had issues with their LR....but I did not. I was one of the very early adopters and mine has worked flawlessly for years and years of constant, daily use.

I used a trigger for everything, shot everything from 22lr, to Supressed, Pistol, rifle, brake, no brake.

I didn't have issues picking up shots consistently when the correct settings and position were set. Took a little while to figure all those settings out but once I did, works great.

I look forward to a much smaller, lighter unit. Carrying around this large pelican is hopefully a thing of the past

Is this actually still available anywhere? I just found out about it and it looks like stock has been obliterated. Seems I'm a bit late to the party.

I thought the same thing, but then ordered from Cabelas a few days ago and it shipped the next day. I had an order in with Botach, fuck them. I ordered and it said on sale for $499.99 but they charged me the normal $599.99 and said it wasnt in stock and mine would ship around 12/5.. They also said sorry, if you want to wait till 12/5 we will issue you $100 store credit. Or I could cancel my order and do it again for the $499.99.

I canceled like they said and redid the order and again it was $599.. They said oh sorry the sale is over, but again we will give you $100 store credit if you pay full price. I dont want store credit, I want the unit for the $499 price I should have been charged when I first ordered. I canceled and went and ordered from Cabelas. I just saw someone post that their 12/5 Botach order shipped. So it seems large re-stocks are coming in daily all over the place...

Just place an order and you will get it soon. Cabelas probably your best bet for speed.

Got the same delay delivery notice this morning as well
Ha, also just got my shipping notice from my returned (defective) unit from Garmin. Considering Garmin said it would be December before they received warranty stock, I could be Xero rich by the weekend. Hopefully I can get out to the ranges and do some testing. /flex slightly off
