So to start with I am running a 20” WC barrel with a .850 dia section at the GB. I am using a SLR adjustable GB with screws on the bottom with a SLR Ion handguard and there is very minimal clearance. Enough to fit a dollar bill through, or maaaaaaybe two bills stacked together. I do from time to time get fliers and yes I know this happens or it was just me pulling the shot.
So my queation is this. I could remove the material from the bottom of the gasblock to make more room, or have the barrel turned down to .750 and run a new GB. I just don’t know if I tune down the barrel if that will affect the accuracy of the barrel.
And before anyone says it, yes I called SLR and spoke with a very unfriendly and not helpful tech guy that said he has never seen any clearance issues. I’m not saying I know more than these guys, I’m just trying to get my coyote rifle dialed in and to eliminate all the OCD issues that might exist.
