Gen 2 Ford Raptor owners. Who here has one?

Have one for my company truck (I own the company), fully loaded except for the blue suede seats (don't hold up in the oilfield).

It's been pretty good, fun as hell down lease roads at 50MPH I will say. Build quality is typicaly Ford/american (I've owned Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc.), both front and rear cameras are out and waiting on parts. Had some weather strip issues. Dealer takes pretty good care of mine since I bought a bunch of other trucks from them for my guys so that helps.

I paid just over invoice.

Oh yeah and what Jgunner said, they sound like a cow giving birth, terrible sound. I got over it. I turned off the fake engine sound with Forscan and it really didn't get any better unfortunately.

“Forscan”?!?!

OP - The Raptor looks like a blast, get one and tell us all about it!

One of the many things I appreciate about this forum, is folks sharing their experience with guns/trucks/etc, because I can’t afford them all.

I can’t afford it either. I mean I could, but shouldn’t. But probably will buy one eventually. I used to be a Chevy guy, but since 2008 and later. Eff them. Plus the new ones look like ASS! I have a 17’ f-150 pretty loaded. I fell in love with it. Now I just want long travel and 450hp! Hell, I would like a new two door short box, lowered 2” and put loud pipes on the 5.0! They are 400hp now in the trucks! Can you say red neck hot rod!

Stock the speed limiter tops you out at 98 MPH. Tunes eliminate the speed limiter, ran it up to 135ish.

Warning invest in a Escort Radar detector if you run a tune!

16-17 is safe for combined driving. My wife drove it to Maryland once and got almost 20 MPG. I only drive it in sport mode w performance tune unless I'm towing.

I'm a Ford truck guy and when I was looking for a new truck in '17(had lifted Wranglers and yes, a Rubicon at one time), Ford was coming out with the new Ranger, didn't like the look of the U.S. version, but, if the Baby Raptor would have made it to the States, I'd of bought it. Didn't really need a full size, so ended up buying a Chev. ZR2 Collie (diesel) and love the shit out of it. First Gen. Raptor was my dream truck tho and it would have gotten better fuel econ. than my big lift/big tire, Wranglers. Mac(y)

I have the Gen 1 and a really good friend has the 2. I've got a lot of time behind both. I had the opportunity to "upgrade" to the newer Gen, but instead I found one exactly like my first Gen and purchased it. I plan on keeping it for a long time, I'm a Coyote Tan guy and nothing out there compares to Terrain.
Regarding performance, the TT V6 gets it, and has undisputed better fuel economy, it's also 500lbs lighter and I can easily tell the performance and handling that is compromised in the environment I live. I don't think there is a replacement for displacement when it comes to the straight fuel burning muscle the 6.2 dishes out, guys are getting hundreds of thousands of miles and they're not easy road miles with the Gen 1. AND... You're not buying a Raptor if your concerned about fuel economy. I have mine geared up for the ultimate bug out rig.

Bit of advice, don't post this up on the FRF on Facebook... Place is a riot.

I have been eyeballing one of those for a few months. Sweet rig.
Actually, the 3.6L V-6, scoots out pretty damn good and it will set you back in the seat a little. I got the 2.8L Baby Max, to pull a trailer and it does avg. 28 mpg, under normal everyday driving. Rides nice and will handle desert terrain(Nv. & Az. on two vacations)pretty briskly. Has a little "turbo lag", so you have to plan your "passes". Mac

“Forscan”?!?!

Lol I know, but that's literally what it's called, great tool just need a shitty Chinese $25 OBDII dongle.

Let's you modify all kinds of shit that should have been modified (or modifiable) from the factory. The first being that fucking annoying double honk when you get out with it running and the key in your pocket. Look like the biggest asshole on the planet when I get in and out of my truck 30 times an hour in the oilfield and everyone else on pad thinks you're trying to show off your truck by honking at them.

It is a FORD don't do it. End of message.

I am afraid I feel the same about all US auto makers. I had a Dodge 2500 that turned to shit by 58,000 miles. Lost the front diff, transfer case and dash wiring in that time. Jeez.

Last time I bought a truck, I almost bought a Ford. Then I thought about my 2004 F250, which had a defective gas tank lining which ruined the fuel pump and cost me over $1000 to get fixed. Ford would not stand behind it. So I did not buy a Ford. They can go out of business for all I care.

They're announcing the new model on 25 June. Only confirmed change so far is the radio, everything else is speculation. Also, don't pay any markup, but expect to pay MSRP. I'd gladly spend an extra $5k to travel to pick one up before I gave a dealer an extra $50.

That dam honk is the only thing i hate about my Raptor. Nothing like leaving for work at midnight or 2am and my honk gets the neighbors up. LOL

$25 to get rid of it, but you'll have to do a bit of reading on the process. It's worth the time and effort trust me. The shit stain at Ford who decided that shouldn't be a user configurable option in the trucks menus should be shot.

How DO you get rid of the double honk?

I reprogrammed mine with Forscan and did away with the horn honk. Made about 12 changes to mine. Disabled horn, auto fold mirrors, heated and cool seats on home screen controls. Changed the DRL and fogs to be on at daytime, 7 flash turn signal and power window control with FOB. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few. Really easy to do.
I love my Raptor..
