Getting the Barrel off of an AW

I'm putting the fuckin' BUSINESS to this rifle and I can't break the barrel free!!

Using a Tubb vise, and that aftermarket AI wrench. Wrenching the hell out of it and it won't break free.

I confirmed that the rubber part of the tab is facing UP, putting CCW pressure on the action (from the rear) what the hell am I doing wrong?

Did you use a bit of resin on the barrel between the vise? I had the same one, and I needed some resin....and to really wrench that mother fucker down to get it off the very first time.

Yeah, I wrapped it in leather. The barrel was locked in the vise no prob.

Just got it loose though. It my car's breaker bar did the trick.


I was not expecting that much force.


EDIT: And apparently AI barrel threads are razor fucking sharp. I just cut my finger WIDE open.

So how did the rubber pad on the drive key hold up on that "aftermarket AI wrench" ?
