When you add your padding to the front of your suit, are you doing twin panels, a whole piece, and if so how is it affecting shooting positionally? Does it bunch up, or how does it typically work?
I have an Isomat, which I installed in the knees, and I am looking at adding to the thigh area.
Any input appreciated.
Thanks, and hope to see you all at SHOT!

Re: Ghillie Padding?

Yogo mat,,,,on your BDU's cut open the top of the extra material thats on the knees and elbow.Slide in the padding and sew the skidplates over them,I like to sew a X over the pad so it will not slip or rollup

I really don't care for the ISO mat,its to thick and if you wear the suit for winter hunting they get hard.

Phil if you put padding on your hips and chest,,,,I'm going to call you a little girl....

Re: Ghillie Padding?

SW,
I was thinking it would be a little overkill to pad everything but the knees.
I got a Yoga mat, and that should work out great! Thanks, and hope to see you at SHOT. I will be there Wednesday through Friday.
Come by and say Hi!

Re: Ghillie Padding?

Hopefully you guys could give me some answers. How far up the shoulder do you have the padding go on the chest? Does it go all the way up your shoulder or do you stop where the rifle butt would make contact? Thanks for helping out a newbie.

Nice...that will work out great inside the Knee/elbow pockets of my Tru-Spec TRU's

This is true. If you are planning an extended stalk, the less resistance to movement the better. You'll build calluses after a while anyway.
