this will be my first can and I got a good deal on a saker 7.62 from my dealer. How's the cans suppression on ars, bolt guns and stuff? It will be on a few ars and a precision bolt gun. Thanks for the input.

I've got this can and I like it. It's versatility is where it shines. Little on the heavy side and heats up quickly. Also had problems with it flying off but hasn't happened now that I clean/lube the ratcheting mount better.

've also got other cans that are more expensive and nicer, but I have no regrets with my Saker purchase.

The Saker mounts suck, unless it's the new Saker ASR. The Specwar is a much quieter can with a better mounting system, but it's heavy.

The new Saker ASR is the best of both worlds. It's essentially a Specwar with a modular mouting system. I have a few of the old Specwars left in stock and on clearance, as well as the new Saker ASR

I like my Saker, I use it on a variety of guns. Like was already mentioned, the versatility is probably the main selling point. I like having the ability to swap between direct thread (for my hunting rifle) and QD (for everything else) in about a minute. The thing is also built like a tank. Make sure you keep the QD interface well lubed though, getting the can stuck can really suck.

I've had the Saker 7.62 for over 2 years now. I love it. Like others have mentioned, it is built like a tank, it is heavy but not too heavy though. The versatility of it is great. Between all of my rifles- Colt M4 5.56, Rem 700 .308 Win, Rem 700 .300 Win Mag, and WBY .300 Wby Mag this can has seen in excess of 10,000 rounds and I've never had a problem other than having to warranty one MAAD over a year ago because of loosening slightly while shooting the Win Mag. Have not had an issue since. I carry it around in the brush and rocks, it is constantly taking more abuse than any of my other equipment and it keeps performing flawlessly. Repeatability has been excellent for me. Sound suppression has been great from the M4 to the Wby Mag, not as good as my Ultra 9 but it does a great job for what it is. I have had to fire the 20" Win Mag without hearing protection because time didn't allow and after the fact I didn't notice that I had forgot hearing protection. I don't recommend this for practice because it still is a little loud but for a quick shot at a deer or simIlar it's manageable. Although I probably should, I do not use protection when it's on my M4 or 308. For my first can, I think it was a great choice. I use and abuse it everyday.

I own more damn cans than I can think of right now... I can tell you the Saker is my go-to "military" can. By that I mean it has a QD mount and can be fired FA if desired and will usually be made like a tank. Generally made from high end steel alloys. I have a bunch of cans and several AAC QD cans along with the Saker. AAC makes a good military can but a shitty mount they refuse to move away from.

It'd take me too long to compare them here. Just take it from me that you won't be disappointed in the system at all and it's also modular as a motherfucker --uses almost everybody's mounts (with adapters), even shitty ones, and has several different end caps you can replace. The 5.56 endcap renders the 7.62 can quieter than the 5.56 model which I have, although the 7.62 model is a bit bigger and heavier than the 5.56 dedicated. They have breaching endcaps, etc. The 3 prong mount is silent, no tuning fork shit. Stellite vs. Inconel (either is overbuilt in that respect). Saker mount is amazing, the can can be attached with one hand and fully using gross motor control, just twist and it'll lock up in less than a rotation, no fingers needed, so it goes on and off easy as shit. Stellar CS, love Sico.

Sico is a company to watch, they've REALLY stepped up to the plate over the last few years. I have their Omega 9k too, ever need a short .300BLK or 9mm can, this one is hard to beat.

You can spend more on a SF can or a KAC can or whatever, but Saker will likely be the better buy at the end of the day. I'll be buying more for other rifles and had they made a brake for my KAC rifle I likely would have used the Saker on it but went with the KAC can due to the 3/4" threads and existing mount.

If you are worried about the QD you can always get the Dead Air KeyMo which adapts to the Saker, Omega, Hybrid and allows you to use Dead Air muzzle breaks and flash hiders.

if you are worried about versatility I would get the Hybrid...not too much that can't be put through it
