Re: Good fleece jacket? I hope you can help me
The fabric, Wind Pro has been around for quite sometime, nylon face with pile lining and lycra. I tested this fabric when it was called Polartec from Malden way back, Lowe Alpine was the first to offer the fabric. Its a good fabric and like everything, updated with a new name. Its still semi fleece and wearing it over other fleece under layers has friction that will bind body movement. Its thick or heavy depending on your perspective. I mostly wore mine as a base layer, I had top and bottoms from Lowe Alpine. Patagonia also offered the fabric mid 1990s. I had a one piece that paired Polartec bottom with expedition weight Capilene open fleece upper. The absolute best piece I ever had from 50 degree range wearing it stand alone to -50 as a base layer.
