Good Guys With Guns

Heading out of town soon for an overnight anniversary surprise for my bride, but I have posted a message to Ms. Davis and I will be trying to get in touch with her for some press coverage by mid week.
You guys are awesome! But, yes, we need more participants, so whatever you can do in that regard will be helpful.
I may do a Facebook page when we get back.

Ms. Davis - "Good Guys With Guns" is proud to have assisted you with this important literacy project. We are a small but expanding group of shooters, hunters, and collectors who have chosen to fight the noise in the media and demonstrate that we are just as caring, compassionate, and giving as our neighbors are. While we share the common bonds of the shooting sports and associated recreations, we are everyday people, just like you and the rest of our community. Yes, I am your neighbor, from Victoria, VA, but my friends in the group are from all over the world. We are teachers, lawyers, IT professionals, mechanics, farmers, pilots, police, fire, military and more. God bless you and your efforts with the young minds of our future! We are with you!

Ive posted all these over at my club forum but the forum is a dead sea. People only infrequently check it out.

It would only work out if I had an email list of people I could send a blast message to and make them aware of a pending effort.

This effort seems a little benevolent and tame.

I think we need to go out to public restaurants and scream at individuals disrupting everyone else in the restaurant while we make our rant.

This is awesome. Promoting the good guys with guns etc is a good thing. Only problem is hard lefties will scream so loud in biased media that the group will continue to be demonized as knuckle dragging Neanderthals

I consider "knuckle dragging Neanderthal" a badge of honor.

way cooler than "effete cocksucking hipster".

Maybe I missed it, but was Good Guys With Guns maligned somewhere? Certainly, this is something to watch out for.

Not yet. We’ve all been on guard waiting for the shoe to drop though. Really is a harbinger to the fucked up times we live in today; worrying about getting beat on for donating money to kids’ causes. In only an evil society would this be picked apart somehow

Not that I know of, but if people want to dump on folks donating to good causes just because they own guns, so what?
Absolutely. Today's media, democrats and celebrities are like the "in crowd" from junior high school. They are the modern bullies who use their energy trying to hurt people they feel threatened by. However, what credibility do these fucks have? Look at the last issue of time magazine and that will tell you all you need to know. Bunch of liars and sanctimonious scumbags with no souls

Your right. I am in the mood for a fight though.

Veer_G have you donated? If so what message did you leave? (Can you leave a message in go fund me).
Would you write one for us (like tucker has). I am many things, eloquent is not one of them.

You can leave a comment with your donation.

Perhaps:

Olivia:

A bunch of us together, from a web site forum, saw that you needed some help. We aren't super-formal as an organization, just friends who share the same interests in outdoors activities. Many of us are parents, and we couldn't imagine going through this with our kids. We have made a habit of helping each other in the past, and we decided to reach out and help others as well. Please accept this from "Sniper's Hide - Good Guys With Guns" with our very best wishes for a bright future.

I think what I may do is unstick it when we announce a new project and then park it back when it's done.
Admittedly, I too scroll right past the stickies way too often.
^^^?? This one sounds like some Hide Wide effort?

I keep missing out, I get here just in time to miss it. I think a Hide Wide alert that this exists is a good idea, once everyone knows then it's up to them if they wanna participate or how much. After everyone knows, then unsticking it so it's an active thread is also a good idea.

So I went ahead and dropped $5 on Veer's project already which is an awesome one. It's not a lot but every bit counts. Here's the message I left:

"Hello Olivia, I'm donating on behalf of "Good Guys With Guns", we represent responsible and safe ownership and use of firearms. We also believe in supporting our community and being a part of it through charitable contributions directly to those in need. Keep smiling Olivia!"

I just got a notification from the founder of Donor's, the year in review. Theres a place aty the top to find things to fund. I typed in the Charlottesville Zip code (22902) and found a bunch. There are 2 looking for rugs for their class, and a host of others. Im partial to the 'Ville' as I live here AND its (becoming) a loberal swamp. would love to pop some libtard skulls. Check it out and lets see if we should fund one.

The other way to donate is the way I do it. I invite parents with kids out to my range and teach them to shoot. Had at least 6 families out so far this summer. Most of them call and ask to come out again and ask about getting a gun of their own.

I have a half of dozen 22 pistols and I provide the ammo. Takes time and a little effort but it's a game changer for sure. You can't change everyone's opinion on guns but like they say " best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time".

Your range, a local range, out the woods or where ever, one smile at a time.

Alright fellows. I have a SMALL project for us.
We've all given quite a bit lately to help a brother, so I'm not going to ask for much here at all.

Remember our first project?
Well that same teacher has another one that's been on DonorsChoose for a little while now. She's raised a fair amount on her own and I've been helping to promote it in on other platforms in and around the community.

Donorschoose is doing a promotion this coming Tuesday, November 27.
For every $1.00 donation she recieves on Tuesday, she will earn a chance to win $5,000 for her school.

So here's the plan. On Tuesday I'll post the link to the project and we'll give at least 20 $1.00 donations in order to maximize her chances of winning.
We'll go from there after Tuesday. There isn't a whole lot of balance on the project, so if you fellows want to knock another one out, we'll do it, but after Tuesday.

So stay tuned, and bring some more members to this thread so we can get the 20 done on the 27th.

Tuck;

Couple of Q's;

1. More than 20 donations is better ? (ie; do 50 or 100 donations improve her odds ?)

2. Is more than $1.00 per donation better ? (ie; does an individual donation of say, $20.00 improve her odds ?)

Sounds kind of like a raffle structure (benefitting the school). Is that the case ? If so, sales of $1.00 "tickets" in the high double or triple digits should help their odds, correct ?

I'm in for a lot more than a dollar, just want to know the best way of improving the odds for her/the school.

Thx, (y):)

And I just reread that and it means that both the donor and the teacher are entered to win the $5000 gift card.
