Received the Christmas in August call from USO today that my SN-3 T-Pal is ready to ship. Ordered the scope June 22, was quoted 8+ weeks at the time. As many of you have seen my post and questions about ring height, I have still yet to make that decision. Not sure what direction I will go.

I will post pictures when it arrives next week.

I understand what you meant by your analogy, but to be honest I don't see it to be fitting the manner of this topic.

Not trying to provoke a reaction just saying... Few would rate these 2 very different days as similar. That day still weights heavy on some of us.

OP- Congradulations!!! Enjoy the USO, Im sure you will!

Oh well, I'm not the most sensitive guy truth be told. Maybe I should have used a joyous event, but I didn't have any to compare it to.

... Congrats anyways. Can't wait for the pics!

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

Chival,

I was taken back too....I ordered a 1.8-10 TPal, EREK, no illumination, mildot reticle, basically a vanilla scope...what magnification did you order?

I did pay mine up front, so to speak, if that made a difference, I paid 50% when I placed the order and sent the balance by cashiers check a few days later, but that should not matter....

I will be posting pictures as it comes out the box, my wife has me started in the blogging mode.

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

I did the mail box USO dance today. Bronco, you Sir, are about to take ownership of the BEST 3.2-17 scope made. T-Pal is really nice, I've got their Posa-Lock mount for the T-Pal, is extra wide for the turret assembly. At 3X it is nice and wide, like looking at a big screen, dial up 17 and look waaaaay far...
Worth every penny. Worth every penny. Said it twice. It is a stud duck.

Now, 4" sunshade, aluminum 44mm objective cap...

Bronco, good for you dude. People at the range are going to hate you....!

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

997,

I got the 1.8-10 TPal, which is not on their website. When I ordered the ERGO option, Becky asked if I wanted the TPal option for just a little more, I said yes....

I am really struggling now with ring height. My scope is shipping tomorrow and I want to throw some rings in the box or go with another brand, but think the USO would be best. I just tested a small 3/4" Redfield scope in my test rig and calculated a 1.5" centerline height on the MWS looks good...in my mind I think this is too high. The highest ring height that USO carries is 1.35". I am off tomorrow and will be up late tonight in the shop deciding what to do.

Any suggestions if you are on tonight would be helpful.

I forget the holiday for other people is supposedly joyous. For me it is the absolute worst day of the year.

Anyway, OP was asking about ring height. I don't recall what said scope is going on. I guess that would help if I were to have any input on the matter.

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

Lazy, you are a sick, sick man.... I'm talking BIG glass. USO is the only company that 1st you get the scope, THEN put a rifle underneath it...

I'm looking for a home for my 3.2-17, I may go bolt.

Nice glass, really nice glass.

I'm halfway through the wait on an SN-12, got rid of my Aimpoints M4s'.
Looks like a trim unit, will go on my light weight .223's.

Bronc,

I ordered the SN-3 T-Pal 3.2-17x44, left side paralax adjustment, 30mm tube dia., Mil scale MPR, red lit reticle, EREK 1/10 MIL elevation, US#3 1/10 MIL Windage w/ stop, Remington 700 short action base, and XL rings (.88" height), and the internal bubble level mounted inside the scope tube. It appears that I spoke too soon on my previous post however, because this evening at 1739 local time, I recieved an E-mail from Jeffrey Fertal informing me that my scope will ship out this coming Wednesday!!!

If you PM 'ssgtkyle' he can tell you what rings you would need for your particular rifle. If all else fails I'm sure you can call up Jeffrey or Becky and ask them which ones you should get. I would reccomend USO brand rings. They look AWESOME with a USO scope.

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

Chival,

I talked to Jason this morning and he is sending me a set of the 1.25 rings with the scope. These should work just fine. The scope is leaving today, Fed-X, should be here by end of next week.

As soon as it gets in, will post pictures and also document the mounting process.

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

Jeff called last week, said my spotter was ready to ship. Since they are only 4 hrs away, I scheduled a trip down to the shop and picked it up Friday... good excuse to get out of the summer heat and look at the waves...

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

Chival, yes, it arrived last evening...I took some pictures and it is mounted on the MWS now. Will get some pictures posted this weekend. The rings (USO) are outstanding, built better than the scope!

The 1.8-10 SN3 TPal is outstanding, the scope is built like a tank, I mean this is a scope. I just finished installing the rings, leveling the rifle, then the scope. I ordered a Borka Monday for the installation and that too worked great, what a great tool to have.

The scope came with 20 MOA built in and it is going on a flattop, I am working with Jason at USO (what a great guy to talk to) to get the 20 MOA out. We have a plan and I will try it this weekend. I will start with Federal Premium, get things established and tweak with 168 FGM.

I will need to get a good scope cover, looking at the one made by Triad Tactical.

I cannot say enough about the LMT MWS and the USO, a somewhat heavy combination, but will be great. I am looking forward to sighting in and learning the details of the USO.

Will get pictures as soon as possible. I need a good case for the rifle. I already have an I-Shot for my other rifles, the I-Shot is built real well, so I am thing an I-Shot in 42".

Will keep you posted.

Re: Got the Call From USO Today

bronc,

If you are looking at cases, SKB makes the best one that I can find (around here at least). Mine is built like a brick shit house. It is pretty heavy, but EXTREMELY well protected. As soon as I get my scope mounted I will post some pics of it on the rifle and in the case. I plan on cutting sections out of the middle piece of foam to accomidate all of my components (rifle, bipod, sling, etc.) I can't wait to get out there and shoot something! I began to mount my base, however the threads on the front reciever plug screw hole are slightly fouled up and I do not have the 6-48 tap required to repair it. So now I wait until Wednesday for the tap to arrive... Hopefully no more delays. Beautiful scope BTW bronc. USO sure makes a GREAT looking/functioining product!
