If you read the original nazi-esque EO, the language allowed for outdoor recreation as long as social distancing practices were followed. Plain as day.

Then, she whittles it down through FAQ’s (“opinions” - not written order) with local law enforcement agencies. Here we go... The big one here, is stating an opinion that people from different households can’t fish in the same boat. Guys on another forum I got banned on for pointing out how poorly this was being written by the Whitmer Administration, start smelling the shit stink wafting from Lansing. Her FAQ’s and the Oakland County Sheriff both noted this opinion on official websites and social media. They cited Section 2 as to why two people from different households can’t boat together suggesting that makes it a “public gathering.” Two people from different households in the same boat practicing appropriate social distancing, doesn’t make it a public gathering by definition. Utilizing public resources might, supposedly, but not in the top five Google definitions I easily searched. They didn’t define What they consider a “public gathering” in the EO. Poor justification regardless, trying to negate something perfectly legal as-stated in Section 7, is not the correct order of operations of how that document is presented. Section 2 references Section 7 as exemptions to Section 2.
NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. If it were hypothetically able to do that, as it was presented to misinform, IMO, then that would negate all of Section 7, because the banning of “public gatherings” would ban the vast majority of what was allowed by Section 7 exemptions. She’s clearly profiling her constituents that mostly didn’t vote for her, IMO, by pandering it this way.
A couple days ago, she went even further to alienate her non-base by banning all motorized boating, but specifically saying boating is still allowed, just not motorized boats. Oh, yeah, you all missed it, boat motors spread COVID-19... Who woulda guessed? Non-motorized boats don’t though! I saw a media clip of her talking about it, they day is came out, and she tried to justify it by saying motor boats potentially break down on the water, on the road, etc. and take away “valuable resources” during this unprecedented pandemic. May I quote the Motor City legend Drew Lane with a “Oooooooooh!” Really lady? She’s showing her femininity and true lack of understanding of the situation. 1. There is not major shortage of auto parts, auto repair, or emergency tow services currently, especially in MI. 2. Boat motors and trailers don’t use the same parts as automobiles... friggin nim-Whitmer...Jeebus... 3. There has not been a major COVID-19 surge of fisherman/boaters. If she wanted to say that it was putting the DNR officers in more harms-way as the main reason for this, I wouldn’t argue that. But no, she went at it this way. SMH...
Now, there were people still cramming boats full of people and from what I saw, and they weren’t being overly cautious in trying to eliminate the spread of this. Those people could have been dealt with on an individual basis, and trust me, $1000 tickets scared most of them. Fine, I won’t argue that, either. But she had to stick that dagger in and twist it for her own, hardcore democrap, sick pleasure and pull this shit from her ass and fling it like a damn primate. If somebody got a hefty ticket for this and are able to show you could practice 6’+ social distancing in your boat, I’d fucking print out her EO, highlight it, and fight it. I personally didn’t get a ticket, but if I had the time and money, I’d go get me one just to prove her sorry ass wrong.
