Anyone heard from this guy?
He sent me a PM several weeks ago (6/14) and said my gun case was going out the door on Friday. I've sent him several PM's and emails off his website with no answer. I ordered this case a long time ago to fit inside a 3300 case for my upcoming hunting trip. Looks like I need to find another case quick.

Re: Grand River Tactical

He was online yesterday according to the info available here on the Hide. Nick is a stand-up guy so I am sure he's just swamped with work, family obligations, etc. that are keeping him from responding to e-mails, etc.

You might try giving him a call instead of relying on e-mail/PMs. You can PM me if you need his phone number, but IIRC, it is listed on his website.

Re: Grand River Tactical

I have tried to call him. Voice mail.
I left no message though.
Called the number on his website.
I will keep trying. If we was on the 'hide' he should see the flashing message at the top of the page with my PM's and my buddies both of which have gone unanswered for a long time. We are both headed to AK soon and ordered these specifically for this event. No big deal, we will just order another bag and hope we get the ones we ordered from GRT.

oubeta, have you heard anything back from Nick? I have tried to contact him a couple of times regarding an order over the last 10 days and have come up empty.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Nick is GTG he called me on Tues and i missed his call. He left me a message about some stuff we are working on and he said he was super busy.

You will get your stuff and hopefully you get it prior to your trip.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Like stated above Nick is GTG. He is not some huge shop like Brownells or something so when it gets busy he can only go as fast as he can. There is no quick magic button to make the process faster if you want the quality to be there when it arrives.

Re: Grand River Tactical

I've talked to Nick multiple times and never had a problem getting hold of him. He normally called back within the hour. Last time I talked to him he said his lead times will start getting longer, because he is having so many orders coming in.

He makes quality gear for a very reasonable price.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Nick is Slow as Hell, but his gear is second to None.

The Problem is were not ordering Enough.... He's still working a "Real" Job that eats up all his time... Him and his Ol lady are A +++.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Just know your not the only guy on here waiting for gear that was going out the door a few weeks ago.

Dont tell me what you think I might want to hear. Just tell me the truth and give me the facts.

It would be a lot easier to get really pissed off if the Grand River Tactical gear was not top notch and I cant believe I am even saying this but WORTH the wait.

Re: Grand River Tactical

He was on vacation, and super-busy when he got back. I've been trying to get him to come out shooting with us, but he's blowing me off in favor of his customers. It's not a full-time business for him, so be patient. It's worth the wait.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Why not take a day or 2 off from Shooting and go help him, Graham ?

</div></div>LOL! That's what he said... and something about wanting to keep the quality of the work high because I don't know how to work with my hands.

I think she must be helping Nick with his 'tactical gear'.

Re: Grand River Tactical

I hear his stuff is great. I ordered a Pelican Case without foam specifically for my upcoming AK trip so I could get a custom case to fit inside. I called and asked him before i ordered it to make sure it would be ready before my trip. That's the only reason I ordered it was for this trip.
I just need a short PM telling me if it will be ready or no so I can look for another case for my trip. I hate to spend another $300 if it will be here before my trip the first of Aug.

Re: Grand River Tactical

First off, I am really sorry that I have not been on while in a long time, I have two full time gigs really kicking my ass right now, and 20 hour days are all I can handle.

Outbeta, your bag is done, I am waiting on green buckles for your scope protector. I am sending you a PM to discuss options.

Crossgun, your set up in complete and mailing out tomorrow.

I have been unable to provide the customer service my customers expect and deserve. Unfortunately, I am a one man shop, with my brother helping me part time, and until I can get someone just to answer emails and questions, and to return emails, and phone calls, all communication will be brief to non existent.

I have never NOT followed through on an order, even though some have taken months to get out the door.

Please bear with me as I am pumping out gear as fast as I possibly can. I have to sleep at least every other day
smile.gif
.

I am not proud of my turn around times, and complete and udder lack of communication, but I am proud as hell of everything that leaves my shop.

Believe me guys, I know how this looks from the outside looking in at GRT, but it bothers me more than you could even understand to know people are irritated, this is my company and my name on the line, and to think or assume that I am not absolutely busting my ass everyday is just silly.

Sorry for any inconvenience to anyone, and I have had some customers that are pretty hot, but once gear is in their hands, most have nothing but good stuff to say, and the ones who complain, is only about wait times, never about product. So again, I am sorry, and your gear is coming down the pipe as fast as possible.

Nick

Re: Grand River Tactical

I have never taken any of GRTs gear to a shoot without people asking where it came from and how I got such quality gear.
It is worth the wait times to get something that will last more than your lifespan.

Re: Grand River Tactical

I e-mailed him about the AICS bag I ordered back in June on 7/25 and 8/3 and still haven't gotten a reply. If the company wasn't so well regarded here, I'd be getting nervous.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Don't be nervous. No one is cutting and running here.

These bags use some materials that I have not normally stocked, and there are issues with quality with some of the materials, and the YKK zipper that I received is not up to par.

The bags are nearly ready to ship out in mass, but there are some hardware issues that need to be resolved.

Re: Grand River Tactical

They are going to start shipping out the end of next week. I got in touch with a new zipper company that is top notch, and my order will be ariving at some point next week. They will be flowing out of here after that.

I don't have the time to play on the internet, I try to get on every so often to answer PM's and emails, but it is now evident, that this stuff does not sew itself.

"woodland" is now retro? Makes me feel old, plus I'm partial to it which doesn't help.

I'd like to add that I have been waiting for something from Nick for a long time also but both times I've called (I only attempt to call people during regular business hours) I have reached him easily. PMs/emails are not the only way to get in contact with people.

Re: Grand River Tactical

I try to answer my phone whenever possible, however, during the hours of 9-5 I do security/ID related work/service/training, and can not always answer, because I am nearly always with clients. However, there is a lot of travel in my job, and if I am on the road, I field calls, and try to return them when possible. The best thing I need to do is to shut the world out and stitch, to get product out my door. I never wanted to be the guy that is known as "He won't get any customer service rewards, but..."...but I think it happened.

I am not ignoring anyone, as the paranoid seem to think, but I don't have the time in the day to spend 3-4 hours on the phone either, and if I answered every call that I got, I would not be doing the work that I needed to be doing to keep from drowning under this beast.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Nick does it right no matter what. I was lucky to get one of his first run drag bags and I asked for stupid stuff that doesn't come on them. He obliged without issue and had me a first rate bag. If you can be patient he will deliver the goods.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Playerz1337</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Grand River Tactical are great guys, they will come through...</div></div>

This may be where some of the misconceptions come from. There is no they, or guys, there is him, or that guy. Recently my brother is working for me, and quickly getting up to speed, but stuff is done right, even if it takes a while. In 3 years, I have never done a warranty repair. That's why I warranty it, because I know I will not have to fix it, or at least not because it was cheaply done and fell apart, like most of the other gear that we have all purchased at one point in time or another, and again, that is why I started this, so I could have the gear that I wanted, that would last forever.

You sent me a PM a few weeks ago. My bag/mat is ready but the scope cover that goes with it is holding it up.

Re: Grand River Tactical

Nick I have a data book cover with label on order. I am in no rush to get it but I do have 1 question when you get a chance. I am getting ready to move in a few weeks and just want to know if you will send an e-mail or tracking number when it ships? It is not big deal if it goes to what will be my old address.

Thanks again for making such top quality gear.

Any updates on this? Have bags started going out yet?

Re: Grand River Tactical

Nick,
No worries I have one of your first bags. Still beating it up can't find any problem with it. It's like a custom rifle it takes a craftsmen to build it and that takes time. If you did not make good stuff people like myself would not be willing to wait. The people that are worried Nick is 100% GTG.

Nick on a side note I have work those kind of hours for about 8 months, MUCH RESPECT!

I have a few longer rifles now I will be getting up with you to get another bag ordered.
