Gun safe interior screws

Trying to figure out what would be the best screws to use to fasten some slotted shelving tracks to the inside of my safe. It has the drywall interior covered by carpet. Being that the drywall buts up against the metal I don't think I could use the regular drywall anchors because they will not be able to pass through the drywall and flare out on the back side.

You could use a brad nailer or a trim staple gun. You could also go with the right sized screw that won't go all the way through to the steel outer shell

I've tried screws but, they just don't seem to hold well. Wasn't sure if there was some type of screw that would hold better than standard drywall screws. The drywall is to thin for a plastic anchor. It has some track in there from factory and they are solid. Didn't want to take out the factory screws to see what they used and take a chance of stripping out the drywall.

I've seen guys use the shelf systems that has the peg holes in it. The shelves cut to the correct width holds the sides up

Good idea. Never thought about that. Thanks. Just need to find something to mount my motion sensor for my lights.

Wish I could. This is on the safe interior were the fire rated drywall is glued directly to the metal outer of the safe. Whatever fasteners are used would only be in the drywall and not pass through the back side of the drywall.
