It is a dedicated frame with the barrel being fixed to the frame.Looks like it has the "drop in" FCG......is the lower the same as as a centerfire caliber.....can a center fire become a .22 with the addition of a slide?
Try to avoid mine. It was shot way more than the others. Guessing these are like new at 10 years old save for food particles stuck in the slide…..

I would have bought mine but as of late anything with that logo goes in the shit can.I have one of the 9mm Brinks trade-ins. It had some wear from getting in and out of a vehicle.
Hadn't been shot much at all.
Otherwise, yeah filthy and food particles all throughout it.

That’s a Thunderer in 41 Long Colt. Picked it up yesterday so it could keep the lightning (38LC) company. No Winchesters in that caliberWhat caliber? Is there a Winchester to match it?

The Lightning, Thunderer, and Rainmaker were Colts first attempts at a DA pistol in 1877. The DA pull is heavy as would be expected since it is basically scaled down version of the SAA lineup. The SA pull is noticeably better and mimics a Gen 1 SAA if you are familiar with them. The downside to this design was the parts size did not hold up to use especially if used in DA a lot. You will come across many that have broken springs and will no longer function as DA, but still work in SA. The birds head is something to get used to, but in a smaller framed gun like this, they are very comfortable. What's the trigger pull like on those?
I'm guessing long and sort of heavy.
I love the birdshead design.
I had a set of Pachmayer grips on my USMC duty Model 19 that mimicked a birdshead grip. loved them wish I could find a set.
Local shop I frequent had an early 1900s Colt service pistol that was issued to the Philipines constabulary. The Lightning, Thunderer, and Rainmaker were Colts first attempts at a DA pistol in 1877. More than likely a Colt M1917 in 45. Those things are monstrous, and I believe that is an understatement still. I couldn’t imagine toting one around for long periods of time. It takes a strong belt to keep one in the right place.Local shop I frequent had an early 1900s Colt service pistol that was issued to the Philipines constabulary.
It was DA. Lines more along the style of a Colts Police Positive but it was HUGE.
Kind of interesting that humans were a lot smaller than and I’m thinking PI humans smaller still and they carried that big piece.
Sam Brown belts were for more than looks.
Whose leather?
DeSantis Dual Angle Hunter & 6 round pouch. I'm going to order one for my Kodiak.Whose leather?
Nice find! Can't tell from the picture if it's a 39 or 59, either way cool gun.
Is that the hatchet you use to fight the British?
Right now it’s a window sticker and a Tshirt.Thats a morale patch wanting to be made if ive ever seen it.

It's a rough old gun but kinda cool example of where the modern stuff evolved from. I grew up a few miles from Travis, I used to go over with my dad to trade with him or get parts for 1911's. If your don't know of Travis check out his 1911 builds.
It has two office chairs in it.would concur. Got room in that stand for a plus one?![]()
Les Baer Custom Carry with the 1.5" guaranty . I installed a fibre optic front sight & a short trigger. This gun runs like a Swiss watch. 2500 trouble free rounds so far and I shoot in weather that ranges from 10* to 100*.What's the story on that pistol?
