Been canoeing the rivers round these parts for over 40 years. Took my son a few times when he was younger, just him and I. Drunken teenagers and mouthy "adults" now run amok. Used to spend a week or more on the river, bring all the gear and rough it out. Can't say I would recommend these days, just too fucked up. Especially with young kids with you, which is a damn shame.
