ok ok got another hum dinger for you, buddy (Different) bought a upper and lower from the local gun shop a wile ago and they built him a pistol. now hes selling it, he put it on consignment at the local set of idiots that run a different gun shop across town because they only charge 10% consignment in sted of 15%, the owner want to put a stock on it and sell it as a SBR because he believes the pistol wont sell. i told him i don't thinks that legal unless he registers it a SBR 1st... how about that????

this shop also told me that it was ok to send a gun straight to the person just put your name on it that they do it all the time.

Re: Had a long talk with ATF today part 2

Let him stock it and then have a nice chat w/ your ATF bubba again. I'm sure they would be interested in both bits of info.

He's an idiot.... Can't do either. Let the BATFE know. That would be a great conversation to hear....

Re: Had a long talk with ATF today part 2

i called him and told him not to do it, he going to go get it on Monday, i(after saying i was not going to do it, like a dumb ass) ordered all the parts to build a 7.5 300 blackout pistol, this just too much gray area im going to build and sell. Ill let the guys who know about this crap worrie about it. when i ordered the lower i told them it was for a pistol and the form i filled out said that and i waited the 3 day wait.

I thought it would be cool to have my wife is worried about it with the kids and im worried about the gray area. its not worth the trouble, plus what am i going to use it for. i wish i could call spike and cancel the order but you cant stop special orders unless you want to pay restocking fee. id rather not

O and DOC i did some research your right on what you said in the 1st part about the SRB and AOW but your state is a common wealth your laws do over ride federal because a common welith are set up. just like theirs no cap on interest and other things like that. as per the states atterny in Florida their is not intention on the sale of a lower, their is a 3 day wait on a lower because their is no determination by the manafator on the intent of the lower because it can be built to ether specs. as per the state of Florida a rifle is determine as a 16" or longer fire atm with a butt stock and designed to be fired with 2 hands anything shorter is considered to be a SBR, any pistol that is determine by the manufacture or intended to be a pistol that can be operated with 1 hand, if it has been altered to be shot with 2 hands intentionally is considered to be a AOW, by ether adding a forward hand grip or installing in a frame or platform to be used in two hand configuration, a AOW with a butt stock reverts back to the SBR classification. Pistols that have a alteration to the barrel to extend beyond that ability to be used with one hand will revert to the AOW specification.

that's the short form of the conversation. Now that's here in Fl, Ga is different i called them, South Carolina is different still. you have to check with the state and state to state does not honer the home stats classification

so in easy speak. im going to just sell the dam thing, i was told by spike it was legal and by the ATF but fuck this. now how much money will i loose is the question lol i told my buddy to sell his this is how this question came up.

The gun shop in question is also selling this....

Out of curiosity, was this a gunstore located in Jacksonville? There's a thread in the Florida forum on AR15 where a user was complaining about a gun store in Jax selling his buddy an AR built with Magpul airsoft MBUS. That's what those are in your photo, I believe. Not rated for use on actual firearms...

Sounds like you've got a shop up there doing some really shady stuff...at that rate they're going to be out of business or in jail before the end of the Mayan calendar.
