The Old Sod
On Thursday a 39 year old man arrived at his 79 year old fathers farm outside Dublin to find it ransacked and 2 intruders still on the premises ,

Fearing for his elderly fathers safety he confronted one intruder with a legally held shotgun and fired 2 possibly 3 shots ..one intruder a well known scumbag with multiple convictions for serious assault and suspected of several attempted murders was shot , the force of the blast neatly severing his arm by all acccounts and now remains in hospital and is " likely" to loose his arm ..

After a police douce was quoted as saying the son would likely face prosecution for the shooting there was concern that he got the best lawyer possible .

A little while ago I found out he has an excellent lawyer !

It's my lawyer !!!

I done the Mach IV test today . Scored a 69 ...

Machiavelli lives !

Re: Hail to Machiavelli

Just knowing he is on the case fills me with a sense of ease and a lot of dread for certain cops

May not come to a prosecution hopefully burn irrespective of that he has one of the best on the Job protecting his rights !

Re: Hail to Machiavelli

sorry to hear of the situation (burglary) but exhilarated to hear of the lawyer involved. When you're done with him, send him our way. There's a whole 'industry' here who need some learning.

Re: Hail to Machiavelli

The reason my state passed our Castle Act was to protect the citizenry from aggressive prosecuting attorneys. We had self-defense as a defense but it wasn't allowed if there was a scintilla of evidence in the case that retreat was an option, or that there was no serious physical injury intended. Thus, a back door in the house or the surviving cohort's testimony that, "Sure, Eddie had a gun, but he said it was just for show," and the good Samaritan can't even ask the jury to find him not guilty due to self defense.

But that's all changed now.
