Without room for a safe, thinking about having custom narrow walled cabinet built into closet wall, then drywalled to appear part of original construction. What's the best way to hang/support these handguns in a vertical mode. Thanks, xray9
Horizontal 2x4's spaced to allow longest handgun to sit vertical. Use some laterally spaced deck screws through the 2x4 to protrude thru the board and cover the threads with plastic tubing to protect the bores from scratching. If .22 rimfire, use a piece of brass brazing rod that will fit into the bore. Drill a hole to match the rod and drive it into the hole. JMHO
I also have a gun but I use it for my personal security, For the home security camera system and motion detectors are more enough. so I must recommend to use electronics products for making your home more secure.
You could use one of these inside the cabinet to mount the pistols vertically. It's called a FAST Holster and is made with rare earth magnets. I have mine mounted high in my closet. I keep the piece there in the evenings and in the safe when I'm not there.
