Happy Birthday America........
This may sound a little strange........the America that I grew up in is gone..........I am close to 68 years.......young/old......I am now retired......and the country I grew up in, served, has now gone to hell.....
I grew up in the 1960's.....in a small town of 700 people.........a time when a six year boy could leave home in the morning on his bike, and the only rule was "be home before the street lights come on"...........
Sunday dinner was always at Grandma's house, and dinner was almost always fried chicken........I have never figured how she cooked it.............cast iron skillet, glass lid............the best chicken I ever had.......by the way..........mom was born in 1927.........no idea when Grandma was born, but they lived thru the depression....Grandma also made great pies, cakes.........always from scratch ..........they had a big garden, and fruit trees, so there was always canning, making jams and jelly.........and one thing I remember was her making Sauerkraut in a crock in the basement..........Grandpa taught me about life, what a person should do, and not do.......how to fish.........he didn't hunt, but always told me if I was to kill an animal, to do it in a manner so as not to let the animal suffer...........gas was .25 a gallon, a dozen eggs were also .25.........
I graduated in a class of 30 people...........next year will be the 50th anniversary of our graduating class........I'm old, but I can still hit what I point my gun at...........at my age, a life sentence is is not much of a deterrent...........nobody gets any of my guns..........if we have to do the 1776 thing again.............I say bring it, I'm getting tired of the shit.........
246 years tomorrow.........God Bless America.........
