At this point I think insurance adjusters are lower on the shit scale than ambulance chasing lawyers (ahem...Frank Azar). My truck got totaled a few years ago and I got screwed on that as well.

Insurance companies are the racket to be in. They take all your money and dont pay a fair value on anything.

Fight em. Sometimes it takes shit on a letterhead from an attorney, who I hate just as much, but some are just folks and really do seem to just fight for the little guy getting screwed by the big guy with $$$ behind them.

Im good with Sat AM if that works for you boys. I can also do sometime on Sunday. Just have to let the safety team guys at church know if I am going to be absent.
Doc, we can meet in the Denver area (I know a few secure spots to leave a car or truck) and make the rest of the drive together if you want. My truck is ready to go.
@Bender - let us know. I can either run a saw (mine is busted by my brother....) or just work moving stuff and bucking wood. I can do darn near anything that takes work and little brains.....

I got called to federal jury duty today. I tried getting it deferred and the judge denied it. I have to report Monday.
The insurance company also just issued the $18k check. I'm not cashing or signing anything. I told him to stop the payment and he said he can't which is bullshit.

I agree about insurance companies. Had my house broken in to. What my policy "covered", was crap. It's a very good idea, for everyone, to go over their policy with an agent and make sure it covers what's important.

Hire a private adjuster if allowed where you live, things will improve.

I may do that once I get a response from the resto company's estimate. There are a few here.
I thought I had read you had an agreed value insurance policy. I assumed it was through Grundy. Maybe I missed something in the posts but it sounds like they aren't giving you the agreed value.
For the car I have Hagerty and there is an agreed upon value. The appraiser is coming to assess the damage. Hopefully the car can be repaired and isn't totaled.
I'm not doing anything with their money and I'm not signing anything either. We are in talks with a lawyer.
What sucks about your policy? Is it a replacement cost or Actual Cash Value valuation?
Is there a co-insurance requirement that you didn't meet on the value of the policy?
