I am thinking about buying my first supressor. I would like help sorting out brands and moving through the paperwork process.
If you have real experience I would appreciate your advice.
thanks

Precision/bolt gun: TBAC

Semi-auto rifle: Dead Air, Silencerco (2nd imo), TBAC should be gtg in this category with the new dominus though having used the DA keymo system I prefer this as a QD system.

Pistol: Dead Air, Silencerco, Rugged

Rimfire: TBAC, Dead Air

At least these are the companies that I decided on in all categories YMMV. I think you will find most people here suggesting the same. You really need to know more about what you want to do with the can than what you have posted. (i.e. mostly bolt guns, mostly ars, precision work, hunting etc.)

Paperwork should be handled by most dealers and they will walk you through the process.

Read up there are a lot of thread discussing this very topic, and I have found and continue to find the hide to be a wealth of knowledge on all things shooting related.

TBAC Ultra 7 direct thread in 30cal is one of the most versatile suppressor out there. Buying it from a dealer associated with Silencer Shop makes the ppwk really easy. One shot trust, fingerprints, and photo thru the kiosk. And then they send you updates by email.

Much difference between the Ultra 7 and 9? Thinking about these two options and shoot mostly 30 cals.

First, no matter what, get a NFA Trust. Place all NFA items on the trust, always! A trust will give you way more flexibility over the long haul. Do research on which suppressors you like and your needs in having one. Check gunbroker as well as finding a local reputable SOT dealer for transfers. Sometimes prices are better local, but most deals I've made were through auctions. Paperwork is easy once you have an established trust, just takes a long time to process through ATF. Waiting is a B10TCH... Suppressors are personal preference as most give decent sound suppression. I like SWR/SilencerCo, just personal pref. There are many good brands out there, dive in and have fun.
