I want to buy or build a ,300 WM tactical rifle, prefer a chassis stock. Are you guys recommend a Savage 110 BA .300 , or do I have a chance to build a better rifle under $2.5 K?
I have a scope , bipod, and rings , but I want a .300 WM long range rifle. I can't afford to buy Accuracy International Chassis , and the XLR industries chassis just not a best decision for me. I got on my .308, and it was horrible. Please help me out what should I do , I am reading lot's of forum but I can't find any decent looking, and shooting riffle under 3.5K...
What I am looking for is .300 WM – 24”-26" barrel – 1-in-10 twist, possibly a folding stock, muzzle thread protector to possibly install a sound suppressor later.

Figure out how much you'll have in gunsmithing cost. Then start putting parts together. 2.5k is really attainable even with an AI chassis.

I found a AICS 2.0 Dark Earth Long Action Folding .300 Win Mag for $1100 , but I don't know what else I should do with a gunsmith . Will need a remington 700, would you prefer muzzle brake on it? Some said it is way too loud with brake on it.

=================================

The muzzle brake and loudness issue came to a head a few yrs back with Marlins intro of their ported guide guns. Many whimps bitched because the ported models were louder! As a result the public cry-babys prompted Marlin to discontue PORTING.... So I spent afew weeks finding and reading as much as I could find on this topic or related topic.

At the time I had 3 444 ported Guide Guns and loved shooting them! The porting did assist on re-sighting by keeping the muzzle flip to a minimum.........and it's only in my later yr's past 63 that I, on that RARE occassion have needed a follow up ..............shot!

Any way...I DID NOT FIND ANY DEFINITIVE EVIDENCE OR PROOF THAT PERSUADED ME TO HAVE ANY FAITH or BELIEF THAT A PORTED RIFLE IS LOUDER THAN A NON-PORTED RIFLE. Sound distribution is different!

Re: Help me please with a .300 WM tactical rifle

I can tell you what I have and what I have done with it.
Remington 700 sendero stainless fluted 26" barrel.
Jewel trigger. Leupold mark4 8.5x25 ,mark4 rings and a farrel 20moa base.
With this rifle I have shot from 100 to 1400 yards. up down and back from one range to the other. Put a brake on it last year as it has a hell of a good slap to it. Did not change anything after adding it but now it kicks like a .308.
I picked up this rifle for $700 used ( less than 200 rnds ).
One thing I have saw is that it gets hot faster than the customs I shoot with. 4 rnds and you dont want to hold the barrel to long. Love the .300wm myself and good luck finding yours.
