Suppressors Help on M24 NV Flash Suppressor

I 'm in the proccess of building a M24 "look a likeL, now the project is about 80% done.... Anyway does anyone know anything about that Flash Suppressor in the photo? THX A LOT!

m24 uses a smith vortex 5/8x24

has anyone ever heard of puting a phantom 5c1 on a rem sps 308 or any 308 bolt gun

The Phantom is a good flash hider, but the Smiths Vortec is about the best FH you can buy, but on a bolt weapon a muzzle brake is a all around better choice.

wasnt sure cuz the phantom is flash and brake just thought it would help in low light situations and it so happens to be the same dia as my barrel

I don't think that is it, because the smith vortex 5/8x24 is a 4 prong design, and the one on the M24 in the picture above is a three-prong design.

I believe the flash-hider has a slot in the top . It slides over the barrel , and engages the back-up iron sight mount . It is not threaded ...

The M24 flash hider isn't threaded. It locks in with the sight base on the barrel like dragoon said. I have a vortex on my 20" which is posted on the 20" thread.

Is it a after market thing or custom made? I just couldn't find any info on that flash hider (such as Close up picture)

That is the issue flash hider that comes in the "D" kit.It slides over the front part of the barrel and fastens to the muzzle by the iron sight base. They change the zero quite a bit,and are not used much, I had several years ago, couldn't even give them away.

So it just a metal tube that slide on, but how does it lock on to the front sight post?? I 'm thinking have it made at the Mechine Shop. Thx
