I am starting to collect parts as I can afford them or they as they become come available for a Maten build in the future. So far I have the upper/lower set. My plans are to find a good smith to chamber and head space me a 6.5 creedmore barrel. I want a nice accurate gun in the end so what would be my best choice on the BCG and where should I start with the barrel/blank and planning?

I used the JP lo mass BCG on my 7-08 build. Should have used a standard one. I would have saved money and my rifle would have been more reliable. But if you have a smith who can tune the gas system to work with it, it might be good.
I'd get a Bat machine barrel extension to and round off the edges that scrape the neck of my brass when it's ejected. Its an excellent extension that will enhance your accuracy and be easy on those 6.5 cases.

Ive heard both sides, from a standard to a JP. Right now I have a standard with standard normal bolt. I will run a suppressor on mine so I would need a gas block regardless plus I have the silent capture setup so it can help with the tuning of the way the bolt is manipulated. But my plans on the 6 creedmore setup is to run the low mass and jp enhanced bolt setup.
I would go with Armalite. Several members mentioned some issues with DPMS style carriers due to the firing pin size and load used. I would read this thread. I read in another thread that I can't find that GAP started using Armalite BCG's in 6.5 factory guns. Maybe they can chime in and offer some advice.

I've had no problems with the JP and a Silent Capture Spring (along with a PRI adjustable gas block). There is one small detail that might annoy some shooters. You can't close the dust cover when the bolt is in battery.
KULT, thank you. That was a good post to read. I think I just changed my mind on the 6.5 and I am going to stick to a 308
I wasn't trying to change your mind on the 6.5c. I wanted to make sure you got the right part for the build. 6.5 guns are great but need a bit of load development for gas applications to get the best performance.

Update, shot the rifle again this morning after a good cleaning again we could not get the primers to pierce but there was some cratering, Measured the FP and FP Hole in bolt. FP is .080 Hole .082 which is standard on DPMS/CCMG/KMC, ROCK RIVER. I got to thinking that 6.5x47 LAPUA rifles have to have a smaller FP and hole due to the high pressure and smaller primer. So I measured some RD/Armalite Bolts and they measure .068 FP we changed the Barrel extention reheadspaced the Armalite bolt to this rifle and wala the Cratering is gone.
I got to thinking about the reasoning that .080 is what the standard on so many gas rifles and it comes down to a Mil Spec Primer thing. Heavier more mass to set off the Hard Military spec primers. Military primers are thicker and harder so they dont slam fire in full auto weapons. Unfortunately just about every manufacturer thinks on the side of what the Military needs as they are always after that huge market. My guess is that .068 works with most everything commercially available.
Oddly enough. BIG Joe here on the hide has a GAP-10 that we put an Armalite Bolt in and it would not set off some of the military primers and had cycling problems with Military ammo but not commercial. Indicator #1
So again the GAS GUN is always going to be ammo sensitive and there is no way to automate an on the fly solution. Find a Load/Factory offering that works well in your rifle and stick with it is the best bet. Limit the use of suppressors as they are a huge problem unless tuned to a switchblock with the ammo you plan to shoot and you keep the rifles clean.
Kiba, your rifle is good to go and another GAS Gun lesson is learned.
All GAP-10 308 caliber rifles will continue to have a .080 FP as lots of Ammo manufactures still use Mil spec Primers on this caliber.
All calibers except for 308 we will switch to the .068 FP That should be a perfect solution for 95% of the guys out there.

1. Poor machining quality , poor qc .
2. Unknown MFG , went out of business after they sold a shit load of these bolts and carriers to a bunch of companies.
3. Rainier sold those as their branded BCG's but stopped.
4. Nib bolts coatings are hit or miss , the parts are not machined to correct tolerances in most cases to take in to account for the coating . Causing head space issues.

Tipper if you don't like my answer, feel free to show evidence to the contrary. Not only did I buy several and return them , if you do a bit of research you will see more than a few people were not happy with theirs. They went out of business right after they sold a huge batch of these shitty bolts and carriers. Also who knows what metal they really used and if they MPI tested their parts. If you want a good bcg a JP or Armalite or a known MFG with a proven track record.

With the 762 Industries bolt, I was going to get one from the sale. Decided to do some research and that quickly told me to stay away. There are multiple threads on different sites about the issues with these bolts. Mainly poor machining and tolerances. Most have pictures to back up the discussion.
Just stay away. Anyone that goes out of business that fast its for a reason.

No, no, no, avoid those.
The company that makes them conveniently disappeared once people noticed how bad the machining was on their bolts. Most that bought them are stuck with these serrated bolts. They probably do make a good file though.
I polished mine but it was not easy with the NiB coating on there. If I could buy again I would go with a JP or a standard phosphate carrier with JP bolt.

Tipper... The main problem with the 762 carriers is the poor machining. I have one with the nib coating. When placed in an upper it has a zipper sound. Looking at the surfaces on the carrier that would contact the upper there are little ridge marks. If you were lucky you might have gotten one that had better machining than the others. If you want a spare I'll make you a killer deal on mine.
Fulton Armory has complete carriers in stock. That paired with a JP Bolt would be a quality setup.
Which percent are you in? Here is some photographic evidence to to see first hand and satisfy your doubt. One week old and 153 rounds through the gun.

I have no issues closing the dust cover on my MA-Ten build using the JP LMOS carrier and bolt.
1st was stock dpms, the other was a stripped carrier I got on sale at brownells for $70 plus parts needed. I had a complete bolt already. both work in the MATEN uppers ive built (2) so far
