I dont' want to make it a habit, too many people have already complained and try reporting it as Abuse

The hate mail for receiving a single newsletter for the new year is pretty comical, I banned the Abuse Reporters

Some of the guys got downright angry about it

WTF? Had to be recent members though right? No "seasoned" individual in their right mind would pull that.

That is total nuts. Some people’s children...

Actually,

I think most of the members were just prior to the change, so I think what happened, some members that split the place after Scout, were on the list with active accounts and got pissy over the email

11 complained, out of 39,000 emails sent, and we have a great rate of open and click through. Industry Standard is 15% and 2.5%, we did 25% and 3.5% so I was happy with the results of the blast.

But fuck em, they could have easily unsubscribed and it would have been done, but they went the reported route. None of the ones I remember actually had any posts.

I get companies asking me about my email list all the time, I have not sold it to anyone, nor will I. And I don't blast you with commercials every month either. I figure once a 1/4 to keep everyone square is not a bad thing.

That's some interesting metrics.

I don't think anyone for a second thought you'd sell that... Granted that is one damn valuable list from a marketing perspective.

What's your total bandwidth/throughput looking like these days for a month? Gotta be on up there in the few TB range I would roughly guess. We go through just a few photos here and there, hehehe (damn Bear Pit).

Before Scout, we were averaging about 4.5TB of data a month

Over the last 6 months, it has grown to 5TB & 6TB depending, so we have grown past the 2014 numbers which were a high point for the site.

We keep growing, the new members are pretty out of control. Since we manually approve them, myself and mods will go into the approval queue and authorize them, I can wake up and have 40 new members overnight, plus another 50 during the day. It's growing again a pretty good clip.

It's like making a political post on social media and unfollowing/unfriending everyone who blows up over it. Don't like it? Scroll past, unsubscribe, look the other way. People are nucking futs these days. :ROFLMAO: Life is only hard for them because they make it so!

I'm all for a quarterly newsletter. Looked good, it was straightforward and simple. Solid work.

A little heads up every now and then seems good. I liked it.
Nothing wrong with a State of the Snipers Hide message once in a while.

On the other hand, some people just aren’t happy if they don’t have something daily to bitch about. Leave them in the dust and drive on. Let them be miserable somewhere else.

Good job building this place Frank, its impressive, had a few hiccups like most ventures but you had the brains and balls to take chances and change your mind when you recognized a better path. Its not that you were smart enough to change but that you had your eyes open enough to see clearly and then the balls to make the change back. You recognized a mistake and made good on it, that skillet and Frank self honesty escapes 99.99% of business leaders and owners. Keep it going man. And a heartfelt thanks for letting us play in your playground.

Hi,

Another set of metrics that would be interesting to study would be:

1. How many companies utilized/utilize snipers hide as their first marketing/advertising source.
2. How many companies actually started from conversations had on snipers hide in regards to people asking for x or improvements on y.
3. What kind of growth did startup companies along with established companies experience once they put a company rep as interacting member here on snipers hide.

IMO this is where Snipers Hide does not get enough credit.

Sincerely,
Theis

Complaints about newsletter?
Were they serious or just yanking the chain for fun?

I probably get 10 per day between brownells and midway .

I click through lots on the hide.
Most all is viable/appropriate.

Thanks for not bombarding us,
Well done.

The internet is a filthy back stabbing cutthroat place.

My wife and I ran an online fishing magazine bookings reports hosted manufacturers. At a high point had 2 dozen staff writers , we were at top or near top of searches for years..

Then paid placement came in.
Still near the top.
Then heavy hitters started taking our staff.
Then our hosted sites.

The thieves wanted our data and code from former clients. Lol

The most important code was in java and served remote secure and executed in the java engine.

I learned that stunt while trying to get code I wanted. I yanked the search engines chain and may have compromised a few things there.

But I never spammed the public.

I like lowlights place.
