my father and i took a doe and buck a peice. i took mine @ 300 and 325 and dad got his at 225 and 150.

Looks like everything worked out in the end! Good job! From your pics I can tell exactly where that is. Spent lots of time out there working.

my father used a factory rem 700 adl 7mm rem mag with a swarovski 4-12 scope br recticle.

everything preformed perfect except me. my doe i wounded on my first shot. she ran off and layed down and i got a much better second shot.

my buck ran about 5-10 ft in pic 2 you can see a piece of lung that the amax knocked out

Great looking rifle.
I am just returning to WA from WY I dropped 4 does with my .243 not too far from Gillette, near Wright in the Thunder Basin National Grasslands. BIL shot a buck at 50 yds in the head with a 7mm RUM surprised how well the head held up.

Good Deal. My wife and i just return 2 weeks ago from hunting in Gillette (when it poured on Saturday - first rain since July)

I took a nice 175" mulie and she took a 14" goat. Great time and a LOT of deer. Grass was unusually tall, though. Taller bipods were priceless.

did you go on private land? outfitter? public land?

Great lookin animal were there a bunch out there?
We usually hunt by elk mountain alittle south of ya
and the guys I go with had hot weather and no luck
at least some one had alittle luck!

in 3 days i bet we saw 2000+ goats. ive never seen anything like that. in indiana when you are driving and see a whitetail even if its a small doe you say (theres a deer) in gillette you say (there is a goat) for about 1 day then you just assume everyone sees them or are looking at a diffrent group

you're exactly right. We started off saying "there's a goat" but that got real old fast. We didn't go 15 minutes without seeing a goat. We went with an outfitter - P Cross Bar - can't say enough good things about them. Top notch all the way!!!
