HK UMP clone advice needed

I have always wanted an UMP clone and I think I have enough projects completed where I can actually do it. I would like it to be an SBR but the braces are good enough so it isn't a must. So, where do I start? Is the CZ Scorpion a good alternative, or the Kriss Vector? Any and all input is welcome.

Where does it start? Well if you "have always wanted an UMP clone", I am pretty sure it does NOT start with a CZ/Scorpion or Kriss/Vector. You either buy an existing one or make your own. I imagine getting a Gideon receiver from Atlantic would be the first start if you want to make your own.

Since they no longer make/import USC carbines, 16in barrel-odd stock, its going to be challenging. There are three on gunbroker right now. They are expensive though. I have a UMP clone and it's ok, i'm using the gem tech suppressor that was designed for the flange style barrel. Its cool, but that about it i have other guns that are my favorite. What is your goal for this?

I used this company for my conversion several years ago, but went with the threaded barrel because I wanted to use the Omega can.

The gun is ultra reliable and one of my favorite shooters, very accurate and resides at my side every night. Great backpack piece as well. I will admit, I like my HK’s. I am sure that the conversion would be a lot more these days. We all pay more $$ than we “need” for things that we “want”...

I mentioned CZ and Kriss as a comparison. Is it worth paying more for the UMP clone when those two are readily available?

What is your goal for this?

A suppressor ready pistol caliber sub gun with a folding stock.

I went with the CZ in a K configuration. Much cheaper and just as reliable.
