If someone wants to donate one of these rifles , preferably in the red headed step child 308, to a good cause, I promise it will be taken care of, loved, fed, etc the way it deserves. Just saying.
Either do it now or take notes to post up later (after the first ones go out). There are those of us that have been interested in all aspects of this and will likely never own one. It is nice to see good design.

Black, Green, Tan, Grey.
We are currently cerakoting a receiver to test the final clearances of it just in case the Birdsong receiver and Cerakoted barrel and chassis colors do not match perfect enough in the same color.
Rifles will come with brake on them. More than likely PVA brake.

Your attention to detail is too great for this... by next week it will be a proprietary brake for the Hoplite recommended load for the projectile/cartridge combo... because you proved it was >1% better than the PVA with regard to POI shift and recoil reduction, while also optimizing for direction of muzzle blast
I did Burnt Bronze for my DT chassis and all the bolts, mags, barrels, etc I did Sniper Grey. Turned out nice.

Did I mention that tank style brakes are where it is at IMO, instead of the "gill" style brakes.
There has to be something to the fact that heavy recoiling artillery and canon systems do not use "gill" style ported brakes

Eventually however, I'll probably have one of the OSS or similar Suppressor mount brakes on it since if I can handle the suppressed recoil, I'll try to shoot it suppressed mostly.

As someone that has a definite distaste for any type of brake on work rifles, I would love to see you just incorporate a Hoplite Arms suppressor system that is optimized to these rifles and their new generation high pressure cartridges.Hi,

Even if a brake and the raw rifle weight keeps recoil manageable, the conventional magnum rounds and especially the new high pressure stuff would have a proportionately higher muzzle blast and flash signature. I hate being the the spotter on glass laying in tandem with someone shooting a braked magnum. The suck is epic and the degradation of the ability to accurately spot for the shooter is measurable.
I would surely guess that any future RFQs or RFPs would have sound and flash suppression as standard on the specs now days?...

Do you have any notes on the larger OSS suppressors?
This is what I was going to use on my Aspis in .338LM and eventually .375 Swiss P
It's supposed to be rated up to .408CT so I'm hoping it should work well, at least until the high pressure stuff comes out and I have to get a new one.
I'm just concerned about how much the recoil would increase going from having a well performing brake to a suppressor.
The consensus I’ve gotten from users is OSS are awesome for gassers but thunder East is still better for bolts.

My experience with OSS is seeing a bunch come through classes on some gasser 5.56 carbines used in some Overwatch Blocks we do. They performed well but are a far cry from big magnums through a bolt gun.
Just gauging from my own limited experience shooting .338LM and 50BMG suppressed, I would dismiss too much negative effects on recoil perception. Maybe a smidge more rifle movement but the recoil pulse is seemingly slower if that makes sense.

If you make it standard kit and an actual "Option" to opt out and go bare brake, you will create the environment that suppressed is the norm and only savages and peeps from Kalifornia shoot naked brakes.

Make a big heavy ass can with an adjustable end cap like the maverick to help compensate for recoil and muzzle direction. Like the sico anchor brake but leave the bottom half closed a bit to force the muzzle down more than evenly.
Or make it integral to the can itself but use a sico osprey type system that lets you clock exactly where it goes with increments per tooth. Only make it precision and repeatable.

Since I am a knuckle dragger when it comes to suppressor sciences, I would guess it has something to do with efficiencies.
Unless you go to a large OD can with minimal wall thickness and insist it reside over a smaller barrel OD, the gain in volume would be poor compared to just making the can as efficient as possible from the muzzle forward.
There has also been trends in the last decade or so toward shorter barrels, especially on 7.62 /308 systems. If you mix a shorter barrel with enclosed forend on a chassis or gas gun, there would not be enough free barrel length to accept most reflex style systems. I ran into this on a large batch of rifles about 15yrs ago when mixing short barrels with the SureFire 7.62SS legacy cans that require about 3" of overlap behind the muzzle.
Even SureFire left the reflex idea in favor for designs forward of the muzzle.

I like the concussion reduction from the PA EFAB, and I would REALLY like to see that aspect enhanced in another muzzle device, while retaining some semblance of brake capability.

From my limited experience, I have had both reflex-type and regular muzzle forward type suppressors.
I have read the arguments that a reflex suppressor gets hotter since it overlaps the end of the barrel for x-amount of inches. I never really felt that was a problem when I had rifles in .308 and 6.5x55 and 300BLK. And I almost started thinking that it was bullshit until I got myself a bolt action rifle in .300 WM. At first I had the dumb idea that I wanted to keep it as is, with no muzzle device at all. But soon figured that I had to have a suppressor for it. So, I got myself a reflex type from one of the popular brands here in Sweden.
Long story short, I can tell you that I killed that suppressor in about 1300 shots, shooting pretty hot .300 WM loads. It, and the barrel got very hot, very fast. I could just about shoot a 5-shot string on a warm day, then the end of the barrel and suppressor would be hot enough to give you 3-degree burns if you tuched it. And since it rides over the barrel it took a lot of time for it to cool down. Somewhere down the road it got hot enough to warp and I had bullets tuching the front cap of the suppressor and naturally precision turned to shit.
As a replacement, I manned up and bought an all steel muzzle break mounted, regular muzzle forward type suppressor from Ase Utra. The SL7i BL. It is sturdy and I believe it is machinegun rated. It works better, cools faster, is shorter and is a better product over all.
So while I think that there could be better reflex type suppressors out there. I do believe that muzzle forward type suppressors are better for the bigger rounds.
Also, I have read that the efficency of a suppressor depends on its ability to slow down the hot gasses that rushes forward. This is achieved by a good baffle design. I have not seen any reflex type suppressors with baffles in the part that overlaps the barrel, behind the muzzle. So if that is true, the muzzle forward type designs shoud be more efficient?

So the electric company has restored power to the lines on the shops road but waiting on 2 replacement transformers to replace 2 of the 3 that feed power to my meter or some shit like that.
Pretty sure once he told me they were waiting on transformers and that big cities take priority on those; I blacked out because the damn Dollar General right across the street is functioning, lol...
