My cousin that works at Adidas is unable to help at this time, I guess they are busy because of Covid...

So I have some mock-ups, please PM me your size for a top and bottom, no need to lie if you are an XXL and want a Large or Medium.

The photo I was sent is just a mock up, the 4th stripe is being added. Enjoy!

Last time I wore anything resembling a warm-up suit, I was 15... In Russia, that was the "gopnik" wear and I really wasn't blending in successfully.

Either way, based on civilized clothing sizes it should be XXL top and XL bottom.

I like the contrast between different chassi and receiver/barrel colors. I have a few rifles like that and think they have a great look to them.

But, worse come to worse.... You can always hit it with some rattle can treatment!

to clarify, just the action and barrel and the removable chassis pieces (cheekrest, grip, buttpad). the chassis is hopefully going to be in nightstalker multi cam. still waiting to hear if thats gonna be doable. otherwise, i may do the alpine multi cam or maybe multi cam or MC Arid.

These are built solid and have high accuracy, but they lack quick barrel change and 3rd party parts/accessories/support. Good rifles, just not as good as AI.

So I have been travelling the past couple days and you guys are running rampant with no supervision, lololol

OK so in regards to all the color, treatment abc, treatment xyz, etc etc....let me lay some more transparency out for you to assist with your potential decision making and give you a glimpse of what we have been doing the past week or so since having electricity restored and waiting for barrels.

OK so onto the transparency lesson....

A pure nitrided part with no post operation oxidation layer is always the top color while the bottom color is with the post operation oxidation layer completed.

More to come this weekend as we talk to the gentlemen in California that is pretty much responsible for nitriding being to the advanced level of utilization of today.

A post Oxide layer is not the best surface for paint or cerakote type coating as it does not adhere to the oxide layer very well. So whether you all know it or not...if you have ever received a nitrided product that is the color of bottom picture and sent it off for cerakote or such...that oxide layer was removed and the part was brought back down to the pure nitrided color of top picture

At least with ion nitriding, there’s the black layer (Fe3O4), white layer (Fe_x N_y), diffusion zone (iron, chromium, etc. nitrides and carbides), and substrate (steel). Nothing sticks to either the black layer (corrosion-resistant) or the white layer (extremely hard); the surface energy is damn near zero. (Both layers are microns thick.)

The top image looks like it’s actually blasted back to the diffusion zone (which is extremely tough and slightly harder than the substrate, and millimeters thick), which does have enough surface energy for stuff to stick to, while still providing 99% of the mechanical benefits.

NASA PRC2004 (on rev D as of last year) is a great process for lots of things. Paint primer isn’t one of them

Things might be different for the assorted ferritic nitrocarburizing processes, but the broad results are so similar that I can’t see why adhesion would be.

Here in lies my problem

I have 3 ideas…

Clear coat so I can see all the machine work..I’ve never seen a “aluminum” rifle at the range

“Different” copper/terracotta cerakote

battle worn/camo/marpat/winter gray scale

I bounce between them every few days.

i know I’ll buy more than one sooner or later but which one to pop my cherry

I was going to go to bed early tonight and now I'm reading about the history of ferretic nitrocarburizing....I blame you lol.

Kind of interesting they used hydrogen (first process) as a diluent gas. I'm wondering if hydrogen diffusion wouldn't have caused embrittlement. Back to reading.

Oddly, hydrogen embrittlement only matters on super high strength steels.

Were are absolutely pushing for that, slightly before. We have all the actions and chassis finished and barrels ordered.

We do have some T&E barrels around the shop that we can attempt to coordinate with the Plank Owners 10 to accommodate their needs before their spec'd barrels arrive.

Now let me sound "industry" for a minute, lolol...Do I get to hunt WI Whitetail too??
