I'm assuming with some water colour paints, one could have endless fun decorating and re-decorating their rifle
I think a Hello Kitty themed Hoplite Rifle (water colour paint job that can be washed off) would totally leave some folks scratching their heads.
You know, I once "helped" my uncle restore a 66 impala ss. I did the body work, primer, wiring, engine, installed a t-56 with hydraulics, disc brakes, and had the interior tore all apart, cleaned, new foam, and stupid hog ring pliers in cue waiting for the kit he ordered to arrive while it was at paint. He was going to get it painted, and then I'd "help" finish the interior.
The crager ss mags went to 1000spoke gold wheels, the original chetau slate silver & maroon stripe paint went to spanish olive green with gold flake, interior went to white, which, ehh why not, and I went off to never help again. He sold it with the full interior kit in the trunk, sitting on a milk crate.
Right now,
@THEIS is sitting on the John, hand to his forehead shaking a slow "no..." "watercolors? Neon? Squirrel rectum pink? WTH are they going to do to all these years of my hard work?" Pearls before swine and all.
I feel for you Theis. In 9 months you'll see a hoplite custom krylon in the px with a duct-taped on white foam cheek riser and a tasco 3x scope.
On the flip side- Maybe spanish olive green with gold flake would make a good barrel and action color with white chassis and gold accents. The impala line that comes out after the phalanx.
