I'm assuming with some water colour paints, one could have endless fun decorating and re-decorating their rifle

I think a Hello Kitty themed Hoplite Rifle (water colour paint job that can be washed off) would totally leave some folks scratching their heads.
You know, I once "helped" my uncle restore a 66 impala ss. I did the body work, primer, wiring, engine, installed a t-56 with hydraulics, disc brakes, and had the interior tore all apart, cleaned, new foam, and stupid hog ring pliers in cue waiting for the kit he ordered to arrive while it was at paint. He was going to get it painted, and then I'd "help" finish the interior.
The crager ss mags went to 1000spoke gold wheels, the original chetau slate silver & maroon stripe paint went to spanish olive green with gold flake, interior went to white, which, ehh why not, and I went off to never help again. He sold it with the full interior kit in the trunk, sitting on a milk crate.
Right now, @THEIS is sitting on the John, hand to his forehead shaking a slow "no..." "watercolors? Neon? Squirrel rectum pink? WTH are they going to do to all these years of my hard work?" Pearls before swine and all.

I feel for you Theis. In 9 months you'll see a hoplite custom krylon in the px with a duct-taped on white foam cheek riser and a tasco 3x scope.

On the flip side- Maybe spanish olive green with gold flake would make a good barrel and action color with white chassis and gold accents. The impala line that comes out after the phalanx.

Your butt is big... no matter the Color!

Though, that green and black is sweet and the contrast I'm talking about!

Damn. Just as I got my hopes up.

Who knows? Theis might be able to do that eventually.
I mean Blaser came out with a .22LR kit for their R8 (the one that goes up to the big .500 calibers).

You would just need a new barrel, an adapted magazine and a different bolt.

Folks slap down $5k for their Voodoo rifles and such, I bet there would be a market for a $2000 kit to turn the Aspis into a .22LR top notch target rifle, and you could have the option to shoot Geno's new VLD solids in .22LR as well.

I have a couple of rimfire projects in the works. When I am done with those, I was thinking about picking up a Vodoo or RimX or some sort of a toggle action rimfire, but if Theis gets moving on this...

I'd throw down for a $2k kit to make the Aspis into a kick ass target .22LR right away.

Otherwise if I'm spending the money, I'd either get the .22LR kit for my Blaser R8 or get an Anschutz 1827F

I was thinking of getting a Voodoo, but there are a couple of other things I want to do first with rimfires. Theis has a little time, but not too much.

Hi,

Well there is always that possibility, lol.....

Did I mention that tank style brakes are where it is at IMO, instead of the "gill" style brakes.
There has to be something to the fact that heavy recoiling artillery and canon systems do not use "gill" style ported brakes :)

Sincerely,
Theis
This artillery inspired brake really tames my 50.

Hi,

CNC Machines are a great piece of equipment that are absolutely essential in precision manufacturing but having a true old school craftsman that takes pride in their work is also absolutely essential.

The top and leading angles of our bolt handles are shaped by HAND in order to get the very best primary/mechanical extraction "feel" that we can get.

Machine oversized and hand shape!!

Hi,

All barrels have been ordered for the "Plank Owners 10" as their desired specifications were placed and confirmed.

What the "Plank Owners 10" did not know they will be receiving is pretty much the entire receiver and bolt will be nitrided as we "think" we have finally finalized the nitride process that gives us what we are wanting.

The new provider (The previous one did not work out) received a complete action and bolt assembly (minus couple small parts) today and should be finished in 3 days. Once we get it back to inspect we will send most of the "Plank Owners 10" serial numbered parts to the nitride provider.

Hopefully shortly after that is finished we will start to get barrel deliveries coming in.

Sincerely,
Theis

Hi,

O shit, we have to push the above post with those pics off the current page, lolololol...

So perfect timing for me to ask a question, hahahaha

Just HOW???
How is it that most rifles we see posted on forums and social media appear to have pristine perfectly looking barrels and such? These are just a few barrels from over the past year and half of stuff and the exterior of them look like they are 10 years old, lol and were not treated bad.

So by not treating bad do you mean you only stuffed them down your pants once or twice?
