Hornadys scratch and dent bullets

Has anyone used these seconds bullets? I have had good luck at 100 yards but at 300 yards my groups open up.

Buddy of mine bought the “factory seconds” and he didn’t have luck with nice groups past 100 yards. His were ELD 140’s

I live in central Nebraska, and decades ago you could buy seconds at the factory. “Cosmetic blemishes…”. No problem hunting with them, but I wouldn’t do benchrest with them!

I got factory second 140 eldm. Use as practice rounds. I certainly dot shoot well enough to tell a difference. But I do use the originals in matches. Again, I can’t tell the difference.

It's really luck of the draw. Some are decent, some are trash.
