Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

^^^^ This isn't going to end well.... All I have to say is, whether it be anyones child or mine, you bet your ass I am in there. Legal issues are out of the window at this point. I might not do a damn bit of good, but I'll be damned if I live the rest of my life knowing I was present and done nothing. Call it chest pounding, call it what you want. I hope and pray nothing like this ever happens to any of us or anyone. I just cant imagine....

Then why not post the entire Article instead of just the section you think would support your earlier ascertations?

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

Take a look at this dog pack attack. Start at 13 sec. The whole thing is over by 25 seconds and after that they are just dividing up spoils. That is 12 seconds. There is power in numbers.
In the tragic event at the zoo there were 3 times that many dogs. There would be no time for you to respond no matter what your skill set is. You can't save them all. Sometimes its just their time to be with the Lord.

I understand the passion and deep emotion attached with protecting children, especially a child in imminent danger.
I have rescued many. I have watched others die wishing it was not true. But saddly it is true. And things like this do happen and there is nothing we can do about it.

But I thought it was "just an update"... Maybe you should edit out the part where you called KY a dumbass for pointing out what you were in fact doing.

I am NOT going to go.

George Zimmerman tried to protect his neighbors against a burglary and got charged with murder. I am not going to have my life ruined due to someone else's stupidity.

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

Watching that video its horrendous to think that a little boy was subject to the same attack. I have to admit that going over after the little boy would be a split second decision but I know for sure that I've have two empty mags and a hot pistol in my hand before all was said and done. Would the boy have survived? Only god knows for sure.

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

I would not jump in for a strangers kid. That would in all likelihood, be a death sentence for the both of us.

Sorry but I'm too valuable to my family, and care enough about them to not put them through that.

These are not pets biting a child because he stepped on their tail. They were inflicting irreparable damage to the poor kid, that even if they got him out alive, I doubt he would have survived. We're talking over 10 WILD dogs here at the same time.

Prayers for the poor little dude that met his end this way.

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

KY338 and I rarely agree on things but nothing short of GOD himself would have kept me from TRYING to help a child, especially if I were armed.

Any armed person is a true COWARD among men if he didn't try to help that child. It IS NOT acceptable for any armed indidvidual to standby and believe it is someone's "TIME". I would rather die trying, then walk the earth as a coward.

Because of my career choice I have been placed in a few rare instances that I knew there was a high probability I would not be going home. Thankfully, I made it home on those occasions.

To the OP, YES a thousand times I would have used extremely violent means to kill every dog I could even if it meant giving my own life.

Re: Horrible Accident at PGH Zoo.

Here is a little follow up to the incident itself. The little boy that was killed was a big fan of trucks and the family wanted toy trucks in lieu of flowers, to be donated to Christmas charities. Very touching to see such an outpouring from around the country.
