I’m wondering if the SH hive-mind can help me think through something. I have a nice load worked up for my recently installed 21” Criterion barrel. I run suppressed most of the time for the sake of personal preference and hearing preservation. The new barrel has allowed me to get up to 2794fps with no adverse pressure signs on my brass using 140 ELDs over 43.9gr of H4350. I also have a nice 2625fps load using the same 140 pills over 41.7gr of H4350.
That said, when I pull my can off after shooting a string of the 2794fps loads, my can always has black crusty bits that dump out of the end. There hasn’t appeared to be any unburnt powder, but all previous lighter loads did not do this.
Question; could I use a faster powder (considering SUPERFORMANCE) and get a more complete burn to eliminate the crusty bits? Just curious if it’s worth testing.
Thanks all!
