Range Report How does FDAC compensate for zero?

I do not own an FDAC yet, so I have not had a chance to play around with it and compare dopes, but I have heard great things about it.

With that said, I'm trying to wrap my head around this, so bear with me. I'm confused as to how the system works w/o zeroing my rifle for each change in DA. Each card assumes the zero is set for those conditions, no? For example, if my rifle is zeroed at say 2000 DA and I now find myself at 10,000 DA, how is it possible that the data is still 'on' ?

I assume that MV is the key factor here? Knowing that MV will change approx. 1fps per 1 degree (F*), I just need to select the card with the closest MV at the given temperature, correct?

Using a 100 yard zero, the differance from zero at SL to 10,000 is too small worry about. If you are using a long range zero, say 500 yards, the differance is about .3 mil. If you came from SL and the DA is 10K, dial the differance and rezero the knob. You are now zeroed for 10K, drive on.

Cory T is right on the money. Zero your rifle at 100 yards/meters and go shoot with the system. You can have huge shifts in air density at 100 yards and see close to nothing in your 100 yard zero. I've done it countless times to validate the FDAC's accuracy in nearly every conceivable environment.

We went through a ton of testing to validate that the system works for anyone with a .308, that has a reasonably accurate understanding of their muzzle velocity, provided that they're between 2500-2700 fps and that they have an accurate and repeatable 100 yard/meter zero.

I say "yard/meter" because we sell the FDAC in yards and meters alike.
