I have stopped shooting altogether. With ammo impossible to get I wont shoot up what I have. I will wait till ammo is back down in price and available before I shoot regularly again.

I haven't. This is not the first drought I've been through and it wont be the last.
I was prepared so I don't plan on reducing my shooting one bit.

I have stopped shooting paper until I can resupply, but am still killing pigs.

I am down to one 3 gun match a month.
Before 12/14, I regularly ran 2 IPSC and 1 multigun gun match a month.
Like some other guys here, I have "load outs" and emergency anmmo supplies on hand along with "training ammo supply" and "match ammo supply"
I placed the ammo i expect to use for each month of the year for 3 gun matches or IPSC in separate usgi ammo cans, and mark accordingly per month.
I have these labeled out through the end of the year, 11 cans worth.
This way I can clearly look and see what I have left in my training supply and finally base ammo supply which i never go under the base amount.
Each weapon has a "load out" and an emergency base of ammunition.
Primary weapons obviously would have larger load outs and emergency ammo than secondary weapons and sidearms.
Example; .556 carbine has load out of 240 rounds.
This means to me, when I grab my carbine bail out bag, i have (8) 30 round mags loaded ready to go.
--I only load each pmag to 28 rounds--

.556 emergency ammo may be 1000 rounds, because it is a primary weapon.
sidearm/handgun load out may be (4) 17 round mags =68 rounds with emergency stash at 500 rounds.

I have scheduled 5-Two Gun Action matches this year, of which I am the match director. I am a bit trepadatious about giving any predictions as to whether all 5 will be well attended. I plan to try and keep the ammo use inside a box of ammo for each gun.I figure that may increase participation as well.
As for practice, well I didn't practice much before the shitstorm, but I practice even less now. Typically in the past the matches I shoot are most of my practice.I plan to save mypractice ammo for my girls this year. Their lessons will begin as soon as I get over this damn flu and the weather cooperates. Yes believe it or not I have had the Flu and its progeny for 3 weeks now. Getting pretty frustrated. Never beenthis sick this long...but I digress.
I will continue to shoot matches and give lessons as long as Ican continue to freshen the stores with what I consume. If I go through a months ration, and It can't be replaced before a second months ration is gone, I will cease and desist until I get more.

If anyone asks, I'm not shooting because of ammo supply issues. But the reality is that spare time is a larger issue, and I see that being more difficult to find in stores than reloading components

I've been wondering how this is going to affect shooting schools. You can figure on going through 600 - 800 rounds, and for some instructors, over 1000 rounds. Unless you're reloading like a maniac, this type of ammo consumption can get way expensive.

The weather here is dictating how much a guy can shoot here. Today will make three days in a row. But to be honest, I'm not sending as many rounds down range, concentrating on hits a little more also.
Not offering the gun to others to shoot as much either!

I have a class scheduled in february, but other than that I have really slowed down on my ammo consumption. And I have stored a lot of ammo, just playing it safe.

My shooting has increased. They put an indoor gun range across the street from my work. They always have ammo at alright prices, and hell, it's the best lunch break I've thought of yet.

I'm with the op on this. Until ammo prices come down and availability goes up, I've put my shooting on hold. As a matter of fact, it kinda makes me sick when I think about how many rounds I've wasted just fucking around at the range.

I have. Combo of a lot of different factors, high prices being a major contributor.
I still shoot with friends on occasion, but it's a lot more rare than it used to be, mostly shooting .22, and matches are close to totally eliminated...
Hopefully when my kids start school, and I can go back to working one job, prices will not be rediculous and I can get back in.

I went with a 22 upper and my club has a winter league for 3 position. I was lucky enough to stock pile years ago. I saw this coming. Im good with reloading supplies for a long time.

I've slowed down quite a bit, but not because of ammo. I'm revamping my range at my farm. New shooting tower for long range and building a pistol/carbine bay. Those 2 projects have used up most of my free time.
