So I'm sure this is very dependent on each ones situation, but high end scopes. How many is too many. Reason I ask is I just ordered my 2nd kahles and will be moving 2 scopes between 5 Builds. 3 currently 2 in progress.

I think 4 is a good number.

I have a one per rifle. For me at least its to much trouble to re-zero a scope when moved between rifles. But everyones tolerance is different so if one doesn't mind a possible re-zero I say go for it. Just my 2 cents. I do have a few extras just in case.

Two is a good start. I have 2 Kahles also. New rifle on the way this spring, really struggling not to want another fine scope.Any help stepping away from the brink would be appreciated.:)

This is a very expensive form of gun crank's disease. When a rifle scope has to cost at least $2000 to be considered worth using you know you got serious problems.

Sounds like you need to slow down on the rifles until you catch up with the glass.
I don't think of them as high-end or low-end, rather, it costs what it costs for the feature set that you require.

I have 2 alpha scopes (Minox ZP5) on my "best" rifles (AIAX and 6x47L build) and less expensive scopes on my lesser builds.
It's what I can afford, or at least what I can justify.
I have a Cronus 4.5-29 on a 223AI build. I paid $1060 for it on clearance. If I didn't have it, I'd be looking for a used Bushnell ERS, a scope with good glass and a record of great tracking, in the $1000 range. If not an ERS, an SWFA SS 5-20x50 is another similarly expensive dependable option.
For less than that there are dependable options like SWFA SS fixed or Bushnell ET 3-12 or 6-24 FFP scopes for as little as $400 if I keep an eye on the classifieds.
Maybe someday I'll be able to afford (and justify) an S&B PMII 5-25 for my .22LR (because it focuses down to 10M) but until then I don't have to give up confidence in the tracking ability of any scope just because I didn't spend $2000+ on it.

If your like me , you will quickly tire of switching scopes around.

It took me a few years to quit the "optics of the month" club.
While a member I owned

S&B PMII 5-25
Steiner M5 5-25
Mark 3-24x42
USO ER25 5-25

I bought and sold them here on the Hide for the most part.
They all worked like they were supposed to, at least within my ability to use them.

Well I had a Burris xtr 2 on one gun and I got tired of shooting that scope so I picked up another kahles. So I have one on my 260 and one that is going to bounce around. I have 1 long range ar in 556, thinking of doing a 22 grendel build for another upper, a RPR in 6.5 and I have a 7-300 being built currently. The 260 is the main comp gun so it doesnt get moved around. The others are club matches and practice or hunting guns. Plus being a college kid in this game and working part time slows down the funds for builds. Thank God I have the gi bill to pay for school in general.

Part of my budgeting for each build includes an optic. Every once in a rare while, I come across an optics deal that I just can't pass up, but I generally don't buy unless I have a build planned.

One per rifle here too. Total of 6 top tier at the moment.

I had, but upgraded from:
A bunch of cheap crap
Vortex Viper HSLR 4-16x50
Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50
SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD
Steiner T5Xi 5-25x56
Vortex Razor Gen 1 5-20x50
Vortex Razor Gen 2 4.5-27x56

Currently own:
2 @ SWFA SS 3-15x42 on two 10/22s
Premier Heritage Light Tactical 3-15x50 (going onto my AR soon)
Premier Heritage 5-25x56 on .300RUM
Kahles K624i 6-24x56 on 6.5 SLR
S&B PMII 3-20x50 on 7RM
S&B PMII 5-25x56 on 6.5 SS
Tangent Theta TT315M 3-15x50 (in route as we speak to replace the Premier Light Tactical) on .280AI
Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 on a loaner .300WSM rifle

In the near future (sometime on 2018 if I draw any tags)
Tangent Theta TT525P 5-25x56
This gives me an excuse to build another rifle!
