Hi all. I recently purchased one of the Howa 1500 Lightning rifles in 300 PRC from Buds Gun Shop. I shot it for the first time yesterday and had some ejector marks.

My load (virgin Hornady brass, GM215M primers, 74.5 grs RL26, 225 ELD-M) didn’t seems like it was high pressure; easy bolt lift, no excessive case expansion, no primer cratering or flowing, cases easily re-chamber. The velocity was also lower then expected than a excessively loaded round, 2717 FPS.
When I looked at the ejector I noticed that the end is rounded. When it’s compressed with a round loaded in the chamber it looks like there would a be a small circle of the brass that is not supported during firing.
Is this a normal mark you all see on your fired brass or do you all think it’s a pressure or rifle problem. Thanks for your input.
