Still a long ways out, but it's beginning to get my attention.

Christ Almighty.....have mercy on my island

I was seeing the same thing. That predicted path lasted just long enough for every single store along the Gulf Coast to sell out of generators. Ah well, I didn't need to spend that money on silly shit like unspoiled food and circulating air anyway. I think I have about 10 cases of 15yr old MREs laying around. They shouldn't be edible at this point, but the Marines always had the magical ability to "extend" the use-by dates.

Edible and palatable are two different things. I would eat one.

Does anyone find it weird the euro model has a slightly better success rate. Not sure what it is currently but i remember on Sandy, Al roker saying the euro model was more accurate normally. He didn't like the US model then and i believe the euro model nailed that one. But what do I know, i am out west watching the mountains burn.

tobacco sauce makes the unedible edible.

Yeah, just one. That which doesn't kill you may serve to make you stronger, but there's no edge in excessive showmanship.

Damn, time to break out the generator.

2 months a go I was ready to pull the trigger on an automatic standby 22kW Generac powered by Propane and I didn't do it because I had to finish up building part of my deck before I could do it. well needless to say I never got back to it and now this. story of my life but now im really regretting slacking off. Its already the hunger games here in Raleigh. I did however find a 7500 Watt Champion for a decent price so itll do for now. gassed up all my cars too. All the evacuees are sucking up all the essentials on their path north.

A 22K would be nice but I settled for a 5500 KW Generack that works of Propane. It will run the refridge, gas stove and wall heater, a small AC, a few lights and compter if necessary.

I was in Wally World to pick up routine stuff (wife has a mild Mt Dew addiction) and couldn't even get on the drink aisle. An employee was stacking water in carts as people moved by. Went to Publix.

I stock up on water and fill my aux fuel tank in June every year. I did dust off the generator, ran it for 20 minutes and checked the condition of the window shutters.

If this thing misses please! No one will be buying anything for a while. The News said some Airlines have tripled fares for flights out. They are exempt from state gouging laws. Lowlifes.

i am running like a one arm paper hanger here and sweeting like mike tyson at a spelling be.

can someone do some leg work for me, what are the winds speeds at distances from the center

From the latest NHC report:

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 50 miles (85 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 185 miles (295 km).

My buddy in Tampa says he's "bugging in," but he's got go bags ready, two large trucks, and two boats ready to trailer or float out of there if necessary.

God help anyone who comes looting, because he won't.

My boat is 1/2 mile from the house.
Ammunition and whatnot are ready.
I doubt I'll need to bug out since we're outside of zone D and 24' above sea level.

Floyd Mayweather lives about a mile and a half north of me in a flood zone of the Alafia river. Wonder what his plans are?

Love the pic Veer.

My wife works at the power company, AND one of the VP's is on the same line. Ours goes out, but it's usually on again pretty quickly.

Yeah, I live next door to a Rappahanock lineman so ours comes back up pretty quickly but I still want a bit of power.

I texted him to make sure he was ahead of pace.

He called me back and we talked on speaker as he was rummaging through his ammo stash.

I'm glad that we're friends. I've seen what he can do on a one-way range.

Im on the list to deploy within the state to help with the victims as a trainee on the IMT. Gas is running short, shelves are empty, and Im not even in South Florida. I hope this bitch veers right and goes way into the Atlantic

I had to chuckle a bit today when I checked "Gas Buddy" and it was asking confirmation if certain stations had power and fuel, keep in mind I'm in Virginia. Then I just shook my head realizing the hoarding is that bad that they deployed that function nation wide.

Three stations this morning had BINGO fuel except diesel. Glad the work rig is diesel.

Went back this PM to get regular 87 octane in cans for equipment (saws and generators), all they had was 87 and diesel. Still had to hit three stations and the price was up just from this morning. Think it was pushing $2.70/gallon.

Best part was watching a guy fill up one single 1 gallon fuel jug. Like really.. what are you going to do with that?!?!

I wonder if the hardware and big box stores still have any of the pre mixed canned saw fuel?

I've lived in FL long enough to not give a shit until the hurricane actually shows up.

Willing to bet it keeps turning NE and will go up the coast.

I have live here long too and I agree and hope your right. But.....
just returned from a night re-supply op. 1:30 am never Have I seen such traffic so late. Gas long lines one place. 500 meters down the road no line. People panic see a line and get on it.

Every update it seems as though the cone is moving east towards the Atlantic. Keep it up Irma...I hear the Atlantic is nice this time of year. :)

Does anyone Know if the Dems SPLC has listed Irma as a hate group yet?

:)

The GFS model is keeping it offshore Florida and making landfall near the SC/NC border, then tracking straight up to my place.
The Euro gives slight landfall near Miami, then hugs the coast to Daytona, with second landfall near the GA/SC border, tracking the state line as it barrels off to the NW.

It's a destructive force that's potently going to wreak havoc on this country. SPLC fully supports it, but I hear they're a little worried about their $100's of millions in offshore accounts.
