I call BS, but Mark 19 for sale?

Re: I call BS, but Mark 19 for sale?

A Mark 19 would have to be listed as a Destructive Device.

I have heard about a unicorn that did make it into a civvy's hands, before the ATF could say anything(before they classified it, as the story goes), but I highly doubt that story.

Anyhow, they are fun as hell to shoot. Range is 2200 meters. I could drop it on a target with decent accuracy providing the wind wouldn't catch it.

Re: I call BS, but Mark 19 for sale?

The only grenade launchers I've heard of being offered to civilians aren't 40mm and only able to shot practice rounds and smoke.

Re: I call BS, but Mark 19 for sale?

I saw one for sale probably 10 years ago and supposedly it was the only one in civilian hands. Back then they were asking 250K for it.

Sir.

Available to qualified Civilians you can purchase LMT 203 launchers, Knight 40mm launchers and M79 40mm launchers. You will complete the normal DD paperwork as well as Title 1 background - once approved you can own it legally all day long.
Now - as far as feeding it, in 40mm you would have little in the way of "fun" unless you are willing to smoke $500-$1k cigars...as each live round outside of gas/chalk is considered a DD with the appropriate tax stamp due. This is even though the round is a one time deal.... its the original BIG BOY TOYs...
I heard a blip over on Bowers Board about a Mk19 that made it into civilian market so that part may be true...but honestly I would not expect somebody on facebook to have it. Its more along the lines of Dillon's toys..like his MiniGun etc...

A few 19's are in civie hands, an three guys have lots, an lots, of legal Gold tip. When buying a transferable 19, money is not the main concern. Much like 134D's why buy something you can't afford to shoot, when you what?
200 large for those guys is like 2K to us.

Always fun to watch na Sayers, craw fish when "You can't own that" shows up with the correct paper work, and shit goes bang, way down range.

Re: I call BS, but Mark 19 for sale?

Better check the location of the item. You might find out it's in a Gun Bazaar just over the Kyber Pass.
Personally, having shot everything in the military from a .45 to a 105 on a tank, and everything in between (including mortars, Howitzers, 25 mm chain guns, SMAWs, Dragons, LAAWs, (and god know what else, foreign and domestic) the novelty of just making noise and throwng rounds down range wore off long, long ago.
I recognize the usefulness of suppresive fire, for sure, but was always anal about marksmanship and efficency when possible. That's why i loved being a Scout/Sniper, and religiously applied fundamental priciples of marksmanship to everything I touched.
The Mk 19 holds no fascination to me. Now a M203 with the quadrant sight on the carry handle of the rifle, properly and accurately zeroed, that's the shit.
