Obviously I'm not just a member on this group. I'm a member of sever AR groups on face book AR15.com I counted something like 40 gun groups on face book alone. I only frequent a few of these groups. When the bump fire first hit the market a friend of mine ran out and bought one as fast as he could. He kept saying Obama won't let this last. He brought it over one day and we used it. My conclusion was. It's a novelty and a piece of shit. I asked him yesterday if he even uses it. He said he used it one more time after we shot and it has been burried in his safe ever since. I also remember the raging debates over it on many of the groups I follow. It seamed pretty devided on the bump fire. I remember during one of those discussions I think it was on face book. some one saying of course Obama let it Through. Because it will end badly and it will be the platform for taking away all Assult Style weapons.
I never really stopped thinking about that. Here we have a useless novelty that when realeased quite a few people just saw it as a novelty. Even now after this happened quite a few people in the gun community had no idea such a thing even existed. I here every where thanking away the bump fire is just eroding our gun rights and we have less now than ever. But isn't that incorrect. Between 1994 and 2004 we had way less after 2004 things got good again.
I feel like the bump fire stock was a bullshit plant let through by the Democratic Party. Than they just sat back and waited for the inevitable to happen. Obama was prying it happened under him. And the he Democratic Party came close to having Hillary in office. If this had happened under Obama or Hillary the damage to our second amendment rights would have been irreversible.
I guess my point is is I think this whole bumpfire thing was set into motion with nothing but bad intention in the political spectrum. You can't tell me the Obama administration was not aware of the ATF's dilemma on the bumpfire. you can't tell me they were not opting for the worst.
Are we doing more damage to our 2A rights by letting stupid shit like the bump fire hit the shelves?
Are we letting the Democratic Party sababtoge us with such simple devices?
Now I have no doubt what so ever that this has cost us the hearing protection act. I know It didn't really stand much of a chance to begin with. Now it won't happen.
There are a lot of people in this country that are pro 2A but every time something like this happens more fall away. Is it not up to the 2A community to start to find ways to not let nonsense like the bump fire damage our cause.
I see no PRACTICAL use for the bump fire what so ever. And it has cost us real head way on real 2A issues it should have never been allowed on the shelf.
