I F'n despise Leofoto and other Chinese knockoff specialists

I’m from Idaho, don’t work for either, but got good friends that keep the French fry factory running.

Now I’m hungry for more potatoes… thanks.

Back to Leofoto<RRS
That's where my electrical career was started! Lamb Weston in Twin Falls, then when Cliff bar opened I followed my foreman, then I moved back over here to the "Valley of the Sun"! BTW Magic Valley was the name of that place! Carbonbased might police me!.

And it seems as most of everyone here, their priorities is set on a tripod. Amongst all of these other important matters. They choose to ridicule a guy for wanting a slight lower price on a tripod, that I know everyone here would agree, is significantly overpriced! But hey, my one trick is my main point, so you're right it's the only one I'll give in this topic, because yes there's no conspiracy to topple this great nation I reside in by purchasing a freaking 500 dollar tripod, someone asked, " you think RRS cares what I think ". I know you gentleman do, then they must if it's brought on this lenghty discussion. So, RRS, would you please restructure your pricing of products that you bring to the market?. If not, it's no threat to me, I will still think your greedy regardless of what Milk dud thinks or what Carbon brain says. Maybe will see the engineers of Leofoto go missing like the engineers on board of Malaysian flight MH370.

Wanting a lower price isn’t the issue, it’s that you called them greedy for offering a US made product at a higher price point than a Chinese made knockoff that stole their IP.

By that logic if you aren’t working for 3rd world wages then you are also being greedy. After all someone somewhere else is doing the same work as you for substantially cheaper so if you aren’t then you are just ripping off your customers and being greedy.

I see your logic, it's interesting to me tho, most of their products are significantly higher, I get paid a salary to finish a building. That price I'll never see. At the end of our project I can see if we were over our budget, and I can usually tell if it's justified.
But smaller items such as a tripod? Bosch makes a tripod for a leveling head for measuring height or depth. The whole kit was less than $1000.00 . There's many variables that none of us know of. But when you see other similar items. I mean come on Bosch yes Japanese but let's say someone made an American version of that, do you think it would $1,800.00 dollars for that?

Exactly right

So in the case of the building you worked on, I assume you and your coworkers are paid a competitive rate, health benefits, overtime, good equipment, etc. You have to pay an architect, civil engineer and a multitude of other people to design the building to meet the existing codes in the area. You have to deal with safety regulations, inspections, the EPA and all the other extra costs of the oversight to make sure you are making a quality product that doesn’t hurt the environment.

Now imagine another company comes in to bid that job with below minimum wage workers, no health care costs and shit equipment. On top of that they stole your completed plans and paid off the regulators to ignore all their safety, environmental and product quality issues. So now they have eliminated the majority of the overhead that your company is required to have as a cost of doing business and they slap up a building that is 80% as good as your companies but at a significantly cheaper price.

Is your company greedy or did you have substantially more overhead to factor into your price?

Ok, third or fourth person to write for Sparks, here’s “your” argument this far:

It’s ok to buy products from a known patent infringer because I deserve it (and I am cheap).

You stupid American love pay money to Man! Dumb American, dumb!

Now add:

I estimate how much an item costs a manufacturer to make. If it offends me, I will buy from a known patent infringer.

I’ve got little problem when dude buys a tripod from some Chinese, Indian, or Martian manufacturer.

In this specific tripod instance, I think it’s funny if this man thinks the cheap tripod is as good as an RRS, but hey, it’s their money.

Do not misunderstand, as a rule, cheap does not necessarily mean the product is worse. But here I feel like it probably does.

But then you go and say crap like this:
There's a thin line between fair price and just plain greediness. You're only upset because it has come to light that it's a system that can be replicated successfully at a much lower price.

My problem is when a transparent shill for known patent infringer Leofoto comes on here and has the numbnuts to attempt to besmirch the good name of RRS, calling them greedy!

Sparks cannot even mount a cogent defense of his argument. Why? Because all he wants to do is instill a seed of doubt in a susceptible consumer’s mind in order to persuade them to buy a Leofoto.

I say if you are cheap, then buy the beefy Innorel RT90C at $337. I don’t think they are a patent infringer of a US company, and that tripod gets good reviews for what it is.
Makes a $500 POS Leofoto look expensive lol
