I want to buy a new hunting suppressor

I’m looking to get a new can for one of my hunting rifles, a Pork Sword with a 10.5” .308 barrel. My desires are something that is lightweight, can handle a limited firing schedule, is not horribly long, and will be able to use either a common mounting system or direct thread.

Current contenders are:

EA Luxe
Dead Air Nomad Ti or LT
Q Thunder Chicken

But I’m also interested in anything else that fills these requirements. Cans I own that can be used in this setup include a Sandman L & S and a Rex MG7 .358.

I have the q thunder chicken on a 6.5cm and love, absolutely LOVE shooting with it. Very lightweight and makes it incredibly hearing safe!

I know nothing about the luxe. Dead air nomad I would like it, but I feel like it being so modular and having extra things you can buy to customize it creates weak points and I have seen the welds blowing off a lot of their cans. Granted I own 3 of their cans.. I’m starting to lose that fanboy status

Griffin Explorr would fit the bill for you pretty well. 6”, 12.5 oz, 1 oz ti brake, no Bbl restrictions, 300wm rated, full auto rated. Mine sounds great on my 300wm, 6.5 creed, and 5.56. And at $750 its not too bad price wise.

A 10.5" .308 will be hell on that first baffle, make sure you check barrel length ratings for which ever can you get.

That’s true, and my Sandmen are perfect in that way except for their weight.

The TC looks nice and the weight is on point, but I’ve heard it performs best on Blackout.

As an owner of three Dead Air cans the recent crap has given me pause as well.

It might. I don’t own 300 black out, however I have been considering the new lux as well as I have been reading up on it too. The TC does perform great though on my rifle

I have half dozen cans and the last was a trash panda I love cause was about 3oz lighter than nomad 30 with plan b . But new nomad -ti and their new xeno mount with adapter will be .2 oz les than trash panda and cherry bomb. And if run direct thread will be 2 oz lighter. That would be my next purchase

Came here to say the same thing. I think it's the best balance of weight, quietness, and price on the market. No frills just taper lock threads on the mount either

I bought a Nomad-LT for hunting and precision LR shooting, the day the dropped. Maximum suppression, and lightweight...And rated up to .300 Norma Mag/.300 RUM (which was hugely important to me, as I have several 7mm STW's and .300 Ackleys). Stamp was cashed on 12/29, so it shouldn't take but a couple months to get them back.

But for my next purchase (mainly for AR use with occasional mag-dumps), I am planning on either an EA VOX-S (w/ KeyMo) or Sandman-S... Possibly a regular Nomad-30 (KeyMo), but I have been told I'd need to avoid the mag-dumps on my 7.5" 5.56 pistol...

I have several of the Dead air cans and use my Nomad Ti for hunting. IMO you would not be unhappy with any of the Nomad's for hunting. Not heavy and great sound suppression.

Nomad is versatile enough to run for multiple applications. Would be a great hunting can as well as can for range toys and AR variants.
